Hi all! We've been to Disney three times with our kiddos; however, we are about to finalize the adoption of our foster son and are surprising the kids with a huge trip to DisneyWorld. We've never taken our soon to be adopted 1 year old to Disney and can't wait to see how much he loves it BUT he has some special needs that I was wanting to get advice on.

He is hooked up to a feeding pump with tubing for 20 hours a day. He also has to be hooked up to his Pulse Ox at all times and is on O2 as well. It's a lot of equipment to carry around with his stroller which is fine - we manage pretty well wherever we go but I was wondering about which of these things he can get on and off rides with. For instance, can I wheel his O2 tank onto a ride with us or is that not allowed?

I've been reading some other threads and it seems like CMs have been less than accomodating for some guests. I'm terrified of falling on one of those moving walkways because they don't slow it down long enough for me to carry him on, etc. Also, is there any company that someone could recommend in case we need more oxygen while we're down in Orlando?

Thanks for the input - much appreciated :-)

I am sure others could help you but just wanted to mention, make sure you take with you whatever you need for him on the rides. I have read so much recently about some rides that could get stuck and you wind up sitting on the ride for 30 or more minutes. Have fun.

We are taking our three recently adopted children, along with our two biological children and a total of six adults in about two weeks. One of our four year olds is disabled.

Disney is much more disability friendly that you think. We just don't notice it as often. Don't ever hesitate to ask a cast member to help out. Many of the rides, especially, have special allowances for disabled people.

The only thing is, how much is a one year old going to be up for? You might check on a sit and stand. Thinking of ours, I believe that there would be plenty of room for a pump to attach to the back. The O2 should sit below nicely. You might check on, (if you don't have one,) a smaller O2 tank with the bag that it fits in with a shoulder strap.

I think you are going to do just fine. Just remember that all the little allowances we make for the wee ones will have to be extended that much more.
