Did anyone stick to their word for 2012? I sorta simplified, I could have done a better job though.

My word for 2013 is Freedom - Financial Freedom which will hopefully turn into freedom to travel, Freedom from my weight which will help with freedom to run (Wog - Walk/Jog), saying no so I can have more freedom to be with the family.

My word is dedication. When I say I am going to do something, then I need to do it. I am really good at fulfilling my commitments to others (too good in fact), but then I put my personal agendas on the back burner.

Things I need to increase my dedication to are:
Exercise regularly
Eating healthy
Make more time for family meals
God and reading my Bible
Me time (quit putting others first always)
Organizing and purging in certain rooms
Begging my husband for maid service, lol
When that doesn't work, try to clean more during the week so weekends are more enjoyable
Make more time for friends that I never seen to have time for anymore
(I may be adding to this list as I think of more things)

I need to think of one.. it's been on my mind lately.

I know there is one big celebration in the works and it may be sooner than later..

I do plan on paying off some major debt this year.. it's little amounts but un-needed amounts...time to put it to bed for good!!!

Oh, I like Freedom...I'm working on financial freedom as well. I'm actively looking for a new job (full-time, in order to get the chains of debt off faster!), so I know my "me" time will be far less. I'm going to think about it.

mine was Patience....think I did pretty good with it, still need a lot more of it though so will keep working on it for 2013!

hmmmm I didn't join in on this last year - all of those could work for me
but I think I should try for Destressing - relax more
I'm always doing something & have a hard time just sitting in front of the TV & doing nothing (I at least have to have a book to read or something else going on:confused3)

I went ahead with my word for the Year.. It's FREEDOM!!!
I agree Buffy.. it was the word I needed for this year....

I think mine is going to be patience. I seem to have very little with all the changes going on in my house. This will be a huge transition year for me with both of my girls off at college in the fall. Not quite sure what I'll do with myself ;)

Okay I like Freedom. I need to get back on track financially. This year has been a challenge and I need to get back to budgeting and sticking to it.

Progress.

I need to make progress in so many areas:
  • Decision making - to move or not to move, that is the question. Or, stay put & renovate?
  • Weightloss - this has been a year of ups and downs and ups. I want to break into ONEderland.
  • Downsizing my posessions - if we move, there needs to be less stuff. If we stay, there needs to be less stuff

I did not do this last year, but I plan on this year...still deciding, but leaning toward BALANCE. I have a lot going on right now and I need to keep myself balance in all areas of life.

Mine word is "Experiences"

DH and I have no children, other than the furry meowy kind =^..^= !
DH's family lives in Alabama, my Dad and three of my siblings live in Atlanta with a brother in Cincinnati and another brother in Phoenix. My three closest girlfriends live in Canada, Colorado and Ohio and DH's friends are everywhere.

I guess that's what happens when you move all over the world every 2-3 years for most of your life, sigh! We will have lived here in Homestead for seven years come March. It is the longest I have ever lived in one place my entire life!

ANYWAY, 2013 is about spending time and sharing experiences with friends and family, as much as I possibly can. That's what both DH and I want. It's all that really matters, family and friends ;)

Prioritizing

Deciding what is really needed and what can be "saved for another time!"

Becky, I can SO hear you. We are a retired military family with friends strewn all over the world. Thank heavens for the internet, but there is nothing like 'face time' and shared experiences! (One reason we are considering moving)

I think my word will be Hopeful.

Hopeful that the dark depression cloud of the last year will leave for good.
Hopeful that we can find the funding for college.
Hopeful that I can lose some extra pounds.
Hopeful that we can begin to climb out of this financial mess.
Hopeful that I can be more content and patient with my friends and family.

So many reasons to have hope.....the list could go on and on.

I decided on Commit

Commit to me (somehow, I let everyone walk all over me!)
Commit to organization
Commit to finishing what I start
Commit to a cleaner house
Commit to less stress & less stuff
Commit to healthier eating & lifestyle
Commit to saving for the future instead of spending today
Commit to happier times with the family & actually enjoying where I am at, instead of wondering what is next

Hoping to make lots of change in 2013 & sticking with it!!
