Drink lots and lots and lots of water! The Guides will have tons; always take them up on their offers of water. It is really dry there (especially in Sedona) so you'll really need it!One week to go and we are very excited. Asking for any last minutes tips/advice for us 1st time ABDers![]()
Check out the temps this week in the areas to be visited. This week in Sedona Friday the 28th High of 117 and low 89 degrees. We will be there and Oh Boy....a whole lot of heat for us where we seldom never go above 90 degrees. I hear it is a "dry" heat but much like my kitchen oven, hot IS hot. Like Sayhello stated drink tons of water.
Thanks for the tip. The temp here (upstate NY) is just like yours - so it will be an adjustment for us too. Have a great time!
We leave tomorrow and we cannot wait. This is our first ABD trip. I am sure I overpacked. Who knew tee sorts and shorts could take so much space! ✈
I just hope the air flights get out...big storms in the upper mid west like Detroit and Chicago.......flying out of Burlington we have to transfer somewhere in the Midwest.....
We are flying out next Tuesday - could not get a flight out there before noon on Wednesday.
Burlington. I graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh - some good times there.
We also flew out yesterday since we couldn't get there before noon today. Staying at the airport Hilton. They are nice here. They took us to a great place in Tempe for dinner and then picked us up when we were done. Also a free shuttle back to the airport today. Still adjusting to the three hour time difference.
We are staying at the Holiday Inn near the airport. Have a wonderful time. We will need to compare notes when we get back![]()
I am excited for you who are about to begin your adventure. I will be going at the end of August.
I hope you 'compare notes' here so we can all see too!Have a great trip!

I assume it's "Skinny Mike" (Mike Hage). Mike was a shadow guide when I did this trip in 2008. He's a great guy!Our guides are Mike and Lenora.
All I can say is OMG! This is day 2 and we are having a wonderful time. Thank you to all who gave advice. You were right - this trip is GREAT!
