Mister Fans were big for us. At the park they sell for about $15.95 at Walgreens they are $4.95. We drank LOTS of Poweraid to get us through. No shade at all in the MK. Crowds were heavy to get to the parks about 45 min prior to opening.
Thanks. We have one that we bought a couple of years ago at WDW. Not sure if I can find it, though. Found 2 smaller ones at Wal-Mart. We'll have to fill up more, but they're not as heavy to carry around.
Did you only do the MK? I think MK is crowded no matter when you go, so I was wondering about the other parks too. It just hit me...7 days to get everything ready for our trip, school activities to finish up, new carpet to be installed. Aaaaah! Good thing I cancelled my surgery for this Monday or I might be a little overwhelmed...
I don't know where you're staying but...we recently returned from 8 nights at CBR. We had brought some large inflatable tubes in case they would be allowed at the resort pool. Well, they were. Every time we were at the pool, it seemed that our family was the only one who had brought pool toys. The resort gift shop does sell noodles which a lot of people had purchased but those other kids wished they'd had tubes! Goggles too!
Save some money go to a dollar store and buy ponchoes, you will need them, last year we where there this time and it rained, rained, rained, and rained. Have a great vacation.
Just came back from 9 days at POR. I can't emphasize the importance of you going EARLY!!! Hit all of the "big" rides and grab fast passes. I did not do any early mornings and did not touch those parks that morning/afternoon. MGM we were lucky during the hour before the fireworks show with mickey and also during the show to get on many rides very quickly. If you choose to do rides at Magic during the pm parade/fireworks get to the park at least an hour BEFORE they start because you can NOT move in front of the castle and you can not use fantasy land during that time (My 13 year old and I got separated for quite some time during this packed time).
I'll be leaving shortly after you , so I know you are excited. I think about one week out you should just maybe double check and confirm your reservations, atleast that is what someone suggested to me. I'm pretty annal about everything - I had a dream I got to the airport and completely forgot all my documents!!!! What a nightmare!
Anyway, don't forget your documents, park passes and all the important ADR's or phone numbers you might need while you are there. Any discount cards, AAA card, address book for sending postcards home, stamps, maps, envelopes for maid tips and I highly recommend extra batteries!
don't know if you know this...you can make photo copies of your tickets, and if someone loses their ticket you can show them the photo copy and they will cancel that ticket and reissue you a new one.
We were there for four days last week and hit everything. We stayed at POP, and it was crowded but we went early collected fast passes and MOVED MOVED MOVED!!!
Great tips. Thanks. We don't do EE or EMH--avoid the parks on their day. We're just not up early enough. The key seems to be early and get going. I know 5 of the 6 in our party are up and ready--now, what can we do about the 6th person...
