One Way Car rental?

I remember reading here years ago about a program where you could fly to Orlando, get a rental car for a cheap rate, with the catch being that you had to drive it back North. I never looked much into it because we always found better deals flying and staying onsite.

I'm interested in doing this for our Thanksgiving trip. Is this something that is still done? I apologize if this is a duplicate thread- search didn't turn up anything!

I know National does it-I think for Thanksgiving it is late(they need the cars down to FL to in Oct I believe) from the northern states(so you would drive down and fly back). In the spring it is reverse(April I think-after Easter) it is fly down and drive back.

I used to police dispatch for a small town and we would have people call and ask. You might consider an ad or calling your local churches. Some people want to have their cars down in FL and are willing to pay. What about Amtrak?
