We're flying into Tampa, staying 4 nights on the beach, and then 3 at Disney, flying out of Orlando. Didn't realize that Orlando was so expensive for car rentals, otherwise I would have flown back out of Tampa too.

We could have rented a car round trip from Tampa for like $275 for a minivan, and dropping it off at Orlando- cheapest I found was $475. Round trip out of Orlando would have been more yet-like $700.

Does anyone know which car rental companies charge a one way fee? Cheapest I found was Thrifty for $475 and they charge a $100 drop off fee.

Thanks

In the past we have rented with Alamo and National with out a 1 way drop fee. I would try those. They also have some decent coupons if you check out mousesavers.com.

Also try droping at the car care center and use DME to get to the airport. (If your staying on site)

Good luck!

None of the major rental companies charge a drop charge; I'm surprised that Thrifty would. Keep checking places like Travelocity and Orbitz where all companies rates are scanned and posted simultaneously. Use any discount numbers you're entitled to. Book the cheapest that allows you to make changes or cancel the reservation and keep shopping it again every few days. Rebook when a better price pops up.

Try Budget using BCD Number x474200 (travelocity public code) and E-Coupon MUGZ029 for $30.00 off. The total for a minivan is $272.01 after coupon is applied when you return vehicle. There is no drop fee. I used Feb 19 - 26th.
