One way car rental to Vero Beach?

Right now, I'm finding out that in Houston it's just about impossible to get a 1 way car rental to the port at Galveston. I have time to get that worked out because the our cruise isn't until May 2013, BUT I have a friend who wants to join me in Vero Beach in January. I will be coming off a cruise and do not want to drive to MCO to pick her up and then take her to VB. I told her that she probably could get a 1 way rental to VB, the town, and I would pick her up there. Now I wonder, (in view of what's happening in Galveston, and that has been confirmed by lots of cruisers) is that likely.

Has anyone done a 1 way car rental from MCO to the town of VB?

FYI...DH just called Avis, and they do have 1 way rentals from MCO to the town of VB. First he called VB resort to find out the rental agencies that were nearby.

I'm pretty sure I've heard that you can do that with Budget and Enterprise too...so long as they have a desk at MCO it should work out fine.

I hope so too, thanks!My DF actually isn't sure if she wants to accept the January stay (6 nights, 3 at VB and 3 at VLW) or April next year, since I told her that in April, we should have nicer weather and the F&G show will be going on. It's her choice, ME is cheaper than a car rental would be, but it's only for 4 days rather than 6. Her decision, both is not an option, since I have other friends who I want to invite as well. I enjoy spending some time solo, but also enjoy time with friends, but not too many at once.

Seems like every trip almost we've got anywhere from 6-18 with us!
This past fall DW and I were about to escape without a group....There's nothing better than a BC for two!
