We've never used the one-time-use points. If we make a reservation online at 7 months, can a day be added using those points? I know adding would require a call to MS. I'd like to secure these open days as a priority.

Yes, you can add a day to an existing reservation using the one-time-use points - based on availability of course.

Good luck! :)

But how come it states this?

One-time-use vacation points cannot be applied retroactively to existing reservations.

Is that just to prevent the member from booking at 11 months, then buying 24 points at 7 months and applying that to the reservation made at 11 months? And then banking the original points?

The OP is wanting to add a day to an existing reservation.

The OTU points can't be used to substitute Home Resort points used for a reservation during the 11 month priority since MS won't allow the purchase of OTU points if there are still current points in the contract available. If there is availability at 7 months a member could cancel up to 24 points worth of nights in the original reservation, use those points for another reservation (or bank them) and then call MS to rebook those nights using OTU points - but they would risk the loss of the nights cancelled since they could disappear before being able to cancel, bank and then call MS to reserve again.
