One time use or transfer?

Background: My husband and I are planning to go to WDW in Sept/Oct to celebrate our 40th birthdays with an adults-only trip. We have enough points left on our 2019 UY to get two nights in a studio in either SSR or OKW (SSR is home and is currently booked). My husband would like to expand the trip to be more than 2 nights (3-4 nights instead). We do not want to borrow from our 2020 UY because we have a big trip planned with the kids. Therefore, I would like to get "extra" points to use for the birthday trip. Would you purchase the 1 time use points for the difference OR pay another member to transfer points (via the disboard forum, maybe)? What would you do?
The approximate cost savings would be $20-$75 depending on if we did 1 additional night or 2.

I voted one time use since transfers are limited to one per UY either send or receive and also because ‘officially’ you’re not supposed to change other members for transferred points...along with wanting SS or OKW which should have pretty good availability at the 7 month mark since OTU can only be used then. Another option might be to rent the extra nights and then link the 2 readies together.

I didn't realize that charging for transferring points was not kosher! I guess I just assumed that if people did it openly on Disboards that is was ok... but I should have know what assuming does...

The OTUP can only be used at the 7 month mark, so it might be hard to get a reservation for additional nights for October.

I have always been surprised that Disney cares about renumeration for Transferring points but doesn't for rentals. But I have noticed that many members won't transfer a small number of points since they only have one transfer per use year per membership.

Have you thought about a cash reservation either through DVC or even at a Disney hotel. It might be fun to try something new or different.
