One thing you WISH you had bought at the Aulani gift shop but didnt...

Today marks 23 days till we leave for Aulani and I am in the mood to shop so I got to thinking about the gift shop and wondering what kind of wonderful treasures I might obtain. What are the things you treated yourself to? What do you wish you had purchased but decided not to? I know I will drool over the purses and probably not be able to justify the cost..Any suggestions for fun gifts for family and friends?

Went with the intention ( and blessing of my husband) to get a Dooney handbag. Once we were there and it was right within hands reach, just could not justify the $ for it.
Settled for a tee shirt and the promise we would return. Heading back next May so very happy with the trade off!

We got back last Wednesday, so this is fresh in my mind! What I wished I could have gotten? The leather Dooney purse - it was beautify, practical, and I probably would have used it forever, but I couldn't justify the price. Our splurge? Robes! It was our Christmas-in-July present. We actually ended up with robes from the Spa - they were a little longer than the room robes that they sell in the gift shop, were brown instead of cream (which is good for hiding chocolate and coffee stains), were the same price, and still came with a DVC discount!

Enjoy your trip! We're hoping to go back someday!

Oh the robes sound like a wonderful idea! My daughter has one from Hollywood Studios with the HTH Tower of Terror insignia and she loves it. I just know I am going to have to fight with myself over those purses!!!!!!!!

I bought the crossbody brown Dooney and wish I had a gotten the bigger one. The difference in price wasn't that much and I would have carried it more.

I'm very familiar with the Dooney purses from the Disney parks and DCL, but what does the on from aulani look like? Is it specific to the resort? Does anyone have any pictures? Thanks!

dress from Hale Manu for me
and I got both purchase with purchase offers...an Aulani blue zip up bag and an Aulani frame.

The D&B bags are gorgeous...I just wish they did a larger crossbody.

This last trip was the third time to Aulani. In the previous trips I had wanted a Dooney and Bourke so bad but I felt bad about the cost. Thing is, that is the only place in the world you can pay retail. You can get some of the bags on ebay but for more money.
This time I came home with the white D&B Aulani messenger and weekender. Dont regret it at all.

Last time my wife and I were there we picked up some Koa wood bracelets for our moms, picture frames for pics we took and a hoody for my wife.

Also got some postcards ( we buy from every place we go around the country )

DVC Aulani pin- was lucky as there were only two left at the time
mug- love to have something I can use everyday
turtle pendant- I love sea turtles and really love the necklace

The D & B handbags are really nice. I didn't get one but they are very unique. Always nice to have something you can use everyday.

I love the idea of the mug, pins and the post cards too. I will probably be getting tshirts as well, I guess I had better budget a fair bit for this-LOL!

This is what I am thinking I will end up with:
A t-shirt or hoody
A tervis cup or a coffee mug
A christmas ornament (we get one every where we go so we have memories when we decorate the tree)

What does Disney do to their gift shops that just makes you want to buy one of everything???

I just remembered about the Koa wood postcards they had of Minnie and Mickey. They are lovely enough to be framed to hang on the wall.
