The fireworks set off by people in the neighborhood all night long.

I probably sound like a real wet-blanket party-pooper, but it is really annoying to me. If they were big, bright ones, I'd like to watch, but these are just the ones that are nothing to look at and make a lot of noise. I'm sure I'll be listening to them well after midnight, when I am trying to sleep. Gotta get up early for work, obviously they do not!

And my poor kittie looks like she might have a nervous breakdown. I feel for the stray kitties outside!

LOL! I am sitting here thinking the same thing. The neighborhood is setting off all kinds of stuff here over the lake....my kids are oohing and awwwing and my 80 lb dog is literally leaning on my legs while sitting here at the computer - what a wimp!

I won't have much sleep tonight either

I know how you feel. But here in NYC fireworks is illegal. Only Macy's is supposed to do it. But you know there are always some people who don't care. I heard someone doing it on the next block.

Same here but some of them sound like bombs going off. The pugs are running in & out of the doggie door and freaking out.

It is illegal in Massachusetts so it is even worse when they shoot them off here....which they do.

Fireworks are going everywhere around me. Big ones too. I am staying inside.

Well, let's see, in the front of the house it seems as if all the kids on the block are shooting off firecrackers, with 50 Cents blasting in the back round.

In the back, were my bedroom is, it sounds like I'm at a raggae concert.

Oh well, at least they're playing music I like.

I wouldn't mind if not for my dog with severe anxiety. Listening to a 100# dog with a high-pitched shriek constantly for 15 minutes will drive anyone batty, right? So I finally gave him his sedative, which I overdid; now I feel like I have to stay up until the effects wear off. He still hasn't gone outside to pee for about 12 hours, poor guy.

At least I don't live in that horrible apartment anymore. We'd have kids shooting off that crap right outside of our door for at least a week before and after the holiday. If they'd just contain it to one night, I could handle it.

I was just commenting on that to DH.... people in the apt complex were lighting and throwing them off the 3rd floor balcony onto the street below right by our cars... I'm sure if I dont call the police on them someone will... freaking teenaged morons.

<font color=navy>It's after 11pm, and the big fireworks have been going off since 8pm. There is a new soccer stadium (the Home Depot stadium) right by our house, and those went off @ 9:30. My dd got up on the roof of our house to watch them, and my ds & I went in the backyard. They were so loud we had to shout to be heard by each other.

I have never seen so many fireworks - and big ones at that - shot off in our neighborhood. The only thing missing was the patriotic music.

I love fireworks and I'm very pleased that they are legal in my state. We had a wonderful neighborhood gathering this evening...everybody put thier fireworks together and we had two hours of fun! We're all a bunch of overgrown kids around here! I agree, though, with those who don't like the loud ones. I avoid those...I get headaches too easy!

What bothers me about fireworks are the people who do it all night long. See, where I live, we are surrounded by 100 foot tall evergreen trees...and it's been a bit on the dry side. I get really scared that a bottle rocket is going to catch the trees on fire. So....here it is, 2am, and I'm not willing to go to bed until I know it's safe! Oh well, it's only a few days out of the year, but I am glad when it's over. We have laws here that say the fireworks must stop after the 4th, which means I finally get to sleep peacefully tomorrow night!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! :D
