One Step Closer!!!

We just got back from applying for our passports!!! Me, ds and niece all went fine, but my si-in-law could not get hers she did not have the correct birth certificate!!! It is her original but I am not sure why it wasn't accepted, so now she has to apply to vital stats. to get another one!!! Now I can tease her and tell her she is an illegal alien!!! (for now anyway) I just wanted to share this because it is exciting to be one step closer to cruisin!!!

I still have quite a wait but the anticaption is worth it!!!

Sounds like her BC did not have the raised seal. Not sure though. Boy it is good you made this thread. Many people are waiting until the last minute. This could mess several up.

What my mom thought was my birth certificate was given to her at the hospital. It was a "Certificate of Registration of Birth". Very official looking but just a notice that the birth was registered with the state of Pennsylvania, and not an actual Birth Certificate. DH's mom had the same thing. Luckily we found out and got "real" Birth Certificates before we went to apply for the passports.
Don't want to "age" myself, but these were both births in the early 50's.
I'm sure lots who have these think, like we did, that they are Birth Certificates.
