We will be at Universal for 2 nights after a 4 night stay at Vero Beach. We are now staying at Universal's Hard Rock Hotel and bought 2 day/2 park passes. We plan to have 1 dinner at one of the Universal restaurants and 1 dinner at Giordano's for pizza. Which of these 4 is your fave?

I didn't vote but Margaritaville is our favorite while the Kitchen seems to get the best reviews. We love the atmosphere and certain food items at Margaritaville but I wouldn't say that it overall has the best food of the four.

Mythos looks cool...my girls would love it, but they are all booked up during our visit. We have AAA and can get a discount at Margaritaville and Hard Rock Cafe. Though Kitchen is at our resort and may be convenient. We will likely wing it and not make any resies.

I didn't think they took reservations that far in advance??? We used our hotel key for "priority" seating and it was pretty much a walk up at Mythos Christmas of '08. Remember they close fairly early too 4ish maybe, so you will be taking park time away to eat there. If you go to Margarittaville go after 6 to make sure the stilt walkers are out and entertaining.

I tried to make a 7:00 resie...that may be why none came up. You can make resies for certain places at opentable dot com (also via the Universal website). Thanks for the info. I think we'll walk up to Margaritaville or the Kitchen.

I reserved Mythos (first time trying it) but everyone seems to love Margariterville. Am I missing something better?

I have not had a chance to try the others but we LOVE Mythos. It's really beautiful inside. The food is upscale (like a signature restaurant) but at prices similar to an Outback. And it's casual wear because it's in the park.

And while it's upscale, they do have a nice mix of items. DH and DS got a steak. My daughter had Pad Thai. And I had a mushroom risotto with lamb medallions.

If I only had to choose one it would be a hard decision between Mythos and Margaritaville. :thumbsup2

I would like to try the atmosphere but am worried about the upscale food- we are not upscale food people. Just like the normal food.

It's really a mix. I had a mushroom risotto with lamb medallions. My daughter had pad thai, my DH and younger son had steak, and my older son had a hamburger, lol. It's also casual dress since it's in the park and there were lots of kids.

Well, maybe we'll try walking up to Mythos. I guess we'll wing it and see what everyone's in the mood for when we are there. Maybe we won't go off site and eat at Giordano's and just do 2 meals at Universal instead.

We've been to Margarittaville, it was fun, but you can go there in many cities, so I would try something different. Why not do Mythos for lunch, and then somewhere else for a later supper? My vote was for the Kitchen at the HRH. The food was good, the atmosphere was fun, there was a roaming magician going from table to table doing mini magic shows, and if you have a drink or two you will be close to your room. And the Kitchen is a restaurant that you will not be able to find anywhere else, so since you will be right there, that got my vote!

I like your choices but if I could only pick one I would choose The Kitchen with Mythos as a close second. Personally I would do those two instead of pizza! :) Have fun.

sounds like a plan on what someone just posted.

do mythos for lunch as they close late afternoon in the slower season, and then do the kitchen for dinnner.

check the calendar for hours of operation for the parks.
if hours are cut back, mythos could be also.
that can happen in the last week of august.

i only see mythos with extended hours in the summer and high season period.

We are only doing lunch there. We're only going for one day. I figured if we get at opening by 5:00 we should be ready to go home. Only doing IOA.

i was answering the question to the op, lovin' Fl for what i thought would work out based on how her day was planned.

We loved Mythos and Margaritaville, haven't been to Finnegans as they were closed on our last trip, but Kitchen I thought was only so/so and was pretty pricey for what it was. I realize it is theme park hotel food, but it was something like $20 for the pot pie, which was so full of dill it was practically inedible, dh pot roast was $28, steak was $32. Mythos pricing was better, and food was wonderful. Margaritaville is great and also more reasonably priced in my opinion. The biggest issue with Mythos and Finnegans is that they close earlier than you may be looking for dinner.
