We have been to Disney quite a few times and have accumulated quite a few sets of mouse ears ...first trip, first haircut, pirate ears, Christmas ears etc.

Every trip we take we come back with more mouse ears that I just put on my kids shelves in their bedrooms or in my closet. Now that they have design your own ears I am sure my kids ( mainly DD) will want more ears when we return In May(ok and me too!)...and the trip after that..and after that! My DH says no more EARS before each trip but they are part of the Disney experience for me and we love wearing them while at the parks.

So how many ears have you all accumulated? Do you let your kids get a set each trip or just the first or just for a special event? Just wondering how everyone manages their EARS:):wizard:

We have a ton-o-ears as well! (I don't think I want to count them...lol)I intended to put up a long, shallow shelf in our bonus room/playroom where we could display them all, but haven't gotten around to that yet...

The ears are fun though, even if we have too many of them! :thumbsup2

Oh, and also wanted to say that having a set spending limit helps with limiting ears... We give each of our boys a souvenir spending amount and they can buy what they want. Once it's gone, no more stuff. They do sometimes buy ears with it.

I only have 2 sets, DD has one... I want to start collecting them! LOL. There's no such thing as too many :P

My two puppies ate my only set of mickey ears. So sad, I was planning on taking on our next trip to save money!

DH and I don't have any. DH wouldn't wear them, I'm not sure why I don't have any. I'd probably wear them to vaccuum.:rotfl2: I guess I'm too busy helping the kids find stuff, I don't usually think to get anything for myself. We came home from our last trip, and DH and I really didn't have anything for ourselves. He bought me a picture frame and himself a shot glass. That's it.:confused3 The kids sure did have a lot of stuff, though. Anyways, my two oldest have been to disney world twice and each have two ears. The next two went on the last trip and each have one set of ears. The youngest hasn't been and thus is earless. All together we have 6 sets of ears in our house. After the next trip, I'm sure we'll have at least 5 more (6 if I remember that I want some, too).:rotfl:

I can't wait to get my son, who will be 9 months old at the time, his first set of mickey ears! He is going too look so cute.

Yes! Treat YOURSELF to some Minnie or Mickey ears:yay:

Each of my kids has a "Disney box" in their closet. We keep their Mickey ears, lanyards with pins, autograph books, pens and light up stuff for nighttime in it. When it's time to pack for Disney, I let them pick whatever they want to bring out of their box.

jedijohn~~ we just got back and my 9 month old son got his first set of ears

They also have a blue pastel pair for infants but I went with the classic because that's what our older son had as a baby.

Here he is wearing the pair he got last trip....which he lost at Hollywood Studios this time. :guilty:

and then with his new pair, I love the pirate ones!

We got their names put on their ears on main street....

We have 0 ears. I had a set from when I was a kid and my aunt bought them for me when they went (my first trip was last year at 37) but they went missing or are packed in one of my boxes. I think this trip I will get the girls each a set.

My DD had some goofy ears and a pirate mickey ear hat but somewhere I lost the box they were in when we moved. I'll have to get more on this trip :)

DS each have a set of ears, tigger and eeyore. They also each have year of a million dream ears.

We don't buy ears. We take pictures of us wearing ears, easier to bring home and store. They also make great scrapbook pages.

Info on the design your own ears?

The Disney shop in MK for sure (that is where we got ours last visit) has a station and wall of HAT only bases and EARS in different colors ( plus the classic black) that you can choose from. The ears that you choose snap on and then you can add embellishments and things (extra costs of course) like iron on applicas of characters and words, buttons, etc. Then you take it to the counter and you can have it embroidered on the back with a first name. Here is also where they heat on your applicas as well. It was fun and did not take too long for the process to be completed either. My DH says no more ears but that is part of going to Disney.... Getting new EARS!

Design your own is where you can pick the color and design of the base hat. From there you pick ears that snap on. You can add "stickers" to any part of the hat. Of course the more you add the more it costs! We did this in Dec. I did limit the girls to one sticker each. But what I do like is that when we go back I would let them pick out just a new set of ears to add to their cap that already has their name on it. That way they will have two different sets, for not that much extra money! We love to budget!:lovestruc
