What would happen if we booked for three people but one couldn't show at the last minute? Would be not be able to dine? Would they charge us for the person who was a no show?

This happened to us, as my now 17 yr old son was 14 and he just was worn out and decided to stay at the hotel and crashed. We had a 5 person reservation at Jiko, they had zero issue just seating the 4 of us.

With some exceptions. Some of the EPCOT fireworks packages are really no refund.
Are those prepaid? I’ve read of someone having to book for one extra just to get a table, not modifying the number of guests before arrival, and being required to pay for the extra at time of ADR (this was at Rose & Crown), but I don’t recall any prepaid.

Edited to clarify Im talking about fireworks package
Spice Road has a handful of tables for 4 and a handful of tables for 2. You can only book for 2 or 4. You can cancel, subject to terms, you can't reduce the number of guests. Not offering a no show refund makes sense.

I think Rose Crown has a similar policy.

How many posters mention making a reservation for extra guests, in order to book an otherwise unavailable reservation.

And if it is a prepaid meal, they’ll refund the amount for the missing person at the end of your meal.
Not necessarily for CRT. Sometimes you encounter a nice CM, but we saw a family arguing at check in and they refused to refund. If you know they won’t show up, I would call before the cancellation period ends so they can add a note to your reservation.

This is very common for normal ADRs, but it doesn't seem to work for the fireworks packages.

It's crazy, then, that a party of 3 can't book without paying for 4. And a party of 2 that happens to book after all the 2-tops are gone can't book at all because they're not allowed to take a 4-top table.

We had an unfortunate experience at Beaches & Cream, Our daughter was doing the college program and we came down to visit. We had a reservation for 3 but our daughter had been asked to work the last minute and couldn’t make it. My wife & I didn’t think anything about it and showed up the 20 mins early to check in, told them we now only had 2 and the reason why. They said they couldn’t give us the day reserved table and made us wait over an hour and a half for a table for 2 to free up. There were tables for 4 all during our wait and yes I said tables plural. We are no longer patrons of Beaches & Cream.

We've booked for 4 guests a number of times when there hasn't been a table for 2 available. Barely gets mentioned at check in.

Couldn't get a table for 2 for the prepaid EPCOT fireworks package at Rose & Crown. Only table for 4. So booked 2 adults and 2 infants as infants are free. MDE doesn't allow you to modify the pre paid packages.

Just mentioned at check in, the infants were't with us and it barely registered. Just seated us. Lovely experience btw. Had the best server.

Great idea! I’ve read it before but completely forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder!

Wait, is this for a normal reservation at Spice Road? We had to make an ADR for 4 but there won't be 4 of us, it's just all they had.

If they are going to charge me for a person that doesn't show, I will cancel ADR.

It's very hard to get reservations for 2 anywhere!

No, that’s just for the special dining packages e.g. the fireworks viewing dinner package at Spice Road Table, not for a regular dinner ADR.

You may be able to Modify your ADR from 4 people to 2 online - check and see.

I tried but then it doesn't have times available for 2.

I will try closer to date!
