What do you think are the advantages and disadvantages of staying at one park all day vs park hopping?

The advantage for us is that we like to travel to WDW in the off-season. MK closes earlier (6 or 7 pm), so after we are done there, we can hop over to Epcot for the evening or MGM for dinner, etc. We use the hopper feature a lot!

Hi

We often go to an early entry park, and when it gets busy, you can hop to another less-busy park...gives you lots of options!!

My family is definitely on the Park Hopper side of this issue. However, if you have never been, it might simplify the experience if you only do one park per day. (Plus, save some $$$!)

Like to hop. We also go off-season. We'll go to AK until early afternoon and the go to one of the other parks for the evening show (wishes/spectro illuminations or fantasmic) It makes it easier to squeeze in all of the night shows when they are not offered everynight. In other words I don;t have to spend all day at MK to see spectro in the evening. The other benefit is we were in AK one day when it started to rain pretty hard. We'd already seen the shows so there was not a lot to do inside. We left and spent hours in future world in Epcot where there are more indoor things.

We do all of the above things, AK in the morning, switch to another park. Meet up with family members, and decide to change parks, etc.

Also, if we get to a park, and it is too crowded, we'll leave and go to another one. I think I would have to pay the $35 extra for the flexibility. It just is too expensive to waste a day where we don't want to be....

We are very torn about this. When we think back on the last two years, we park hopped maybe 25% of the days we spent at WDW. If we do not buy the PH option, we can get 8 day tickets instead of 5 day tickets for our whole family, and it seems like we should NOT get the PH option. Just not sure... once you park hop, can you ever go back??

mainebound, i am having the same dilemma... we've always hopped because we could... but sure we could live w/out it if we had to... but it's such a nice option... but not necessary... see, i could go back and forth all day! LOL!

since we have two uph's per person leftover from our last trip (hurricane days) we may go for non-hoppers and then only hop on the days we use up our uph's...
