I have four kids: 5, 7, 10, 12. At Disney, my 7 year old can ride with one of my bigger kids on things like the Barnstormer, and I ride with my 5 year old. How does that work at Universal? I thought I read that it's 48" to ride without an adult. My 7 year old is right at 48", but I know sometimes they measure differently when you're actually there.

I doubt my littles will want to ride anything really thrilling anyway, but what rides might we have problems with, if they can't both sit next to me? I'm also a pretty large woman, so the three of us really shouldn't all ride Dumbo together, for instance.

I just want to make sure I don't get their hopes up about something.. we've never been to Universal before.

Thanks!

over 48" can ride by themselves. Under 48" must be accompanied by someone 14 or older. I was just there earlier this month. It is being enforced FYI.

I know they had some extra wide fish on one fish two fish (like dumbo), me, DH and DD all fitted in one and we are not small

Yep - 48" and they do measure. Another option is to hope a stranger will help out if needed. On our last trip in early December this year, I was doing Barnstormer over and over and over with my two youngest. (They were 49" and 51" with sneakers, ages 6 and 9, and they wanted to go together). A father came with his niece and daughter and both were just under 48" so they were told they couldn't do it. I overheard and volunteered to ride with one of the kids. So they did the ride twice, taking turns with me.

If the 7 year old makes the 48" but wants someone to ride with, then another option would be to put the 7 year old with the 10 or 12 year old. My eldest and middle child loved riding together once my middle child made 48". It made both of them feel like big kids. (Middle child made it to 48" with sneakers when she was 7. She didn't make it by much).
