One of my message board friends died last night...

I just found out. His health had been slowly declining and a few nights ago it took a turn for the worse. He was young, in his 20's. He died of a combination of things I would rather talk about right now. He was not from the DIS but from another message board I frequent almost as much. Many on this message board were actually lucky enough to spend time IRL with him at conventions and meets.

I'm just crushed right now. Ryan was always so lively and funny and there to listen to everyone. The funeral will be in AZ so , of course, I can't go (being in Boston). I think a bunch of us from that message board might send flowers to his mother and partner but that's all we can do. It's a helpless feeling and it's just not fair that someone so young and alive should have to suffer and die like this.

Any prayers, or kind thoughts you could think for Ryan and his loved ones would be very much appreciated.

I am so sorry to hear that E. For some people this is not just a place to come and goof off, it is a place with real people and they have real feelings. I hope you can just appreciate the fact that ge has gone on to a better place and now he is truly home. I will pray that God will ease the pain for you through this time.

We had a woman here (DIS) "Leota" who suffered from a very serious illness, I wonder if she is okay? We never hear anything about her anymore. I wonder if anyone here has heard from her?

I'm sorry, E, for your loss.

I know how much it hurts to go through something like that. I, along with many others who frequent this board, lost a very dear on-line friend last October. Her name was Beverly Lynn, and she was taken from us at only 37 years of age.

It was a terrible and tragic loss. I miss her to this day. She was such a good friend.

So sorry for your and others on your site loss, Esmeralda. We do become close to each other on these sites, real they are, real people. Having lost 4 DIS'ers (that I can recall) over the past few years, we know the pain. My best wishes for you, Ryan's family and friends, God speed for Ryan.

I do hear from Eileen, MP, in fact, hope to see her and family later in the summer. And she still does drop by the DIS, though pretty much had her fill of the CB last year.
