Hiya All.

I need to choose one restaurant off site for our first night evening meal.

Having read many recent trip reports there seem to be so many gorgeous options I dont where to start, we are wanting something American and DH will probably fancy steak?

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Annette x,

If you want to eat off site, look for a Lone Star steak house. It's a nice little chain. Outback is a nice chain too but I don't like the one here. I think Lone Star is better.

If you want more upscale, I have heard amazing things about Shulas. I'd really like to try it one day but at $40 a steak, I'll have to wait for a special occasion, lol.

We really fancied Logans Steakhouse and having just read Wayne's TR we were 100% fixed for eating there, but having just looked on their website it looks like they have peanuts flying around the place (I think its part of the theming) and DS has a severe peanut allergy so thats knocked that option on the head :rolleyes2

I have always fancied a Bloomin Onion appertiser though from Outback ::yes::

The bloomin onion is very nice :)

I really love Outback, but I've eaten at the one on HWY 192 near Disney twice, and both times it's been awful. I'd definately recommend Lone Star over Outback.

I haven't been to Logan's yet, but it sounds similar to a Road House. If it is, they serve a bucket of peanuts on your table and you throw the shells on the floor. No one throws them around. Unless he is allergic to touching them, he would be okay. Then again, it's kind of an American southern thing. My DH is from Scotland and he does NOT get the peanut thing at all, lol.

Can I suggest Longhorn? We try to go there every trip now, and find both the food and the servers to be excellent. There is one on the 192 just by the Super Target, and another close to Premium Outlets - been to both and had great experiences. Depending on how bad DS's peanut allergy is, i'd be cautious about Lonestar. While the nuts weren't exactly flying around, we did find shells around the table last time we were there.

I too am championing Longhorn for steak over Outback for sure.... although Wayne has got me interested in the Texas Roadhouse but I've not tried that myself... that's if you just want what I call reasonable meat at a reasonable price

If you like the High-grade stuff I'm a Shula's fan or Capital Grille on IDrive I also rate but I've not actually eaten there in years.
