One Night Stay

We are going to drive down to Disney this fall and stay on-property. Because of our drive, it will be late Sunday when we get to town and we decided it makes no sense to do Disney or pay for an expensive room that night.

So I'm looking for recommendations for a cheap and clean place to stay. We don't need amenities like transportation to the park because we're just going to sleep and leave early Monday to check in at the Caribbean. I just need clean, safe, convenient, affordable and on the way.

We'll be coming into Orlando via I95, a totally new experience for me and it has me a little thrown off thinking about my internal map. Any suggestions?

Yup, totally get ya! We've done this a couple of times, arrived later and tired and just need a nights sleep before we head out early AM! Then we check into the resort and head out to the park with our tickets. Room is usually not ready yet (though you could get lucky!) but no prob. cause we're in a park!

Anyway, back to topic. We just stay on International Drive. We used to do Best Western but I think last time we had to do Comfort Inn. The rooms are the type where you just drive your car up to it, so definetly not fancy, but we've paid anywhere from $35 (years back) to $85 depending where you pick. One included breakfast. We didn't make reservations, but your probably better to, if you know for sure. Ours was always when we got there early because we were supposed to stop on the way but DH says "I can make it" and then I'm standing like a zombie waiting in line hoping they have a room. And they usu. do. The last time there was a Friendly's (I know, couldn't believe it, thought they were only in the Northeast) and then right to bed. International Drive to me feels safe enough, vacation area.

Once when we didn't know any better we booked a room in Kissimee, but I didn't like it at all, and we promptly left. The area didn't feel right. I'm sure there are many great places, but I stick to International Drive and you're basically right there, just 1 or 2 exits down on 4.

We are doing the same thing, and have narrowed it down to Comfort Suites Maingate East and Quality Suites Lake Buena Vista.

We have to sleep 5, though, so that narrows our choices. But those two have good Trip Advisor reviews, free breakfast, and are less than $100 a night.

We were looking to do the same thing.... we need a 1 night stay, just to sleep before we checked into Pop for the week. After searching, I felt like all decent places were still $85 plus, so we decided to book an AOA LM room for one night. I booked through expedia and got it for $125. We just went on a long weekend trip here in SC, and after hours of checking reviews on trip advisor, finally making a decision, the hotel I picked was a dump, in a sketchy part of town, and we paid $70/ a night. :sad2: I may be a little tigger shy, but Im not sure who much I trust online reviews anymore!! So I felt like the extra $35 would be well worth knowing we will get Disney quality, even if it is just to sleep!

Why not get a room at a Disney Value property, i.e. All Star Sports, Music, Pop Century, etc. With the Fall Specials, you may be able to secure a room for $80. You can still check out in the morning and check your luggage with the Bell Service and go to the parks via Disney buses. Take a lunch time break and return to gather your luggage and transition to your next Disney resort.

Whatever you decide, enjoy your time with your family!

Have you looked at any of the hotels suggested on mousesavers.net? She has some really good suggestions. We have stayed at Buena Vista Suites and it meets all of our criteria for indoor hallways, clean, and in a safe part of town.

Does anyone know if it will be problematic to check in at a Disney resort around midnight ? Sorry if this is a silly question.

I've checked in after midnight before and haven't had any issues. Lines are likely to be less (unless you happen to come in with a group off DME). Whether or not it affects any special room requests, I don't know. I expect your flexibility to CHANGE a room might be limited at that time of night, if for some reason you needed to change.

I second trying to find a cheap one night at a Value resort if you can swing it with a discount.

Barring that, it depends on what you mean by "cheap". For me, I want to spend under $100, and so my go-to place is the Marriott Village on Vineland. I have been able to find rooms at the Fairfield Inn for under $80/nt.

I second looking at Mousesavers or AllEars. They often have promotional tie-ins with places. Example, if you're going before Sept 30. MouseSavers shows a rate of $64 at Holiday Inn LBV.

Perfect !! Thank you !!! I need a one night stay for $100 because we will be driving in late and then have the rest of our stay at the BC . I found Travelocity has some really good deals on Disney value resorts and moderate resorts !

You can stay at the Quality Suites Lake Buena Vista for $70 a night if you book online and pre pay. It is a one bedroom with full kitchen and free breakfast. No parking fees or resort fees. Its very clean and in a good area about half way between Universal and Disney. It will sleep 6.
