DH and I will have one night child-free (thanks grandma!!) during our upcoming family trip. Can't decide where to go for dinner/apps and drinks. Staying at the Contemporary. THinking of these options: Try to get bar seats at the CG (it will be a non-fireworks night) since we both love sushi; try the Kona Sushi Bar at the Poly with drinks at the Tambu; Mizner's at the GF (never been there) and appetizers somewhere; bus it to Sanaa since we also love Indian food and drinks at the AKL with maybe a bit of animal watching. We're not really into quiet, candlelit romantic spots but like to people watch. Last time we were there we tried bluezoo and while the food was very good, it was reallllly empty and quiet in there on a Sat night. We're willing to bus it or cab it anywhere if someone has a good idea! Thank you for your time!

i would do the monorail tour of bars for a drink/app/dessert... start at the wave, hop upstairs to the CG for some sushi, pop into the GF for apps at Mizners, and end w/a decadent dessert from Kona w/some good coffee (decaf! LOL!)...

If tequila is your cup of tea, Epcot has a new Tequila Bar (can't remember the name, I am sure someone can post it) that serves some food.

That would sure be somewhere to people watch!! LOL

Dinner at Shulas, then drinks at Jellyrolls or dinner at CA Grill and drinks around the monorail.

LOVE this idea!

I'd love some suggestions too as dh and i are hoping for one night out without the kids on our trip in Nov. (the in-laws will be alnog to watch the kiddos)

I'm a little biased, but I'd have to head over to AKL. Victoria Falls is a great bar, and you can watch people on 3 floors at once if that's what you like to do! Haven't experienced Sanaa yet, but Jiko is fantastic. It's a little quieter than you may prefer, but it certainly won't be empty! And animal watching, whether during the daytime or later in the evening with the night vision goggles, is always a hit.

We've booked date nights on our last few vacations, and this year is no different! We don't have a grandma in the vicinity but have been extremely happy with Kids Nite Out. Anyway - last year, we did massages at the GF spa and then went to Ohana. We also did a Flying Fish night out. This year we're doing massages at the AKL spa followed by dinner at Jiko - with a bit of bar time in between. It's a wonderful couple night in the midst of a wonderful family trip!

Thanks for all these great suggestions!! I really like the idea of the monorail crawl, so we can try out a few different places. Maybe we can work in a family dinner and animal viewing at AKL.

You might want to check out Pardisio 37. Great apps - good food - full bar. The night we were there a guitar player was performing live. A fun, not quiet, place for a night out

Dh and I went to Sanaa for our anniversary while the GPs were watching our kids in the villa. We loved it. Kidani is beautiful, but I'm not sure I would trek all the way out there if you are staying at the CR. Any night out alone with your dh will be fun. We went to the MK first, and then dinner. It was the perfect date night. Too bad we can't do it more often.
