One Nice Dinner: Jiko or Yachtsman?

My family will be in WDW this August and we currently have two reservations--one for Yachtsman and one for Jiko. We are trying to decide which one to go to. We went to Yachtsman a few years ago and really loved it, but have never been to Jiko. We've heard many good things about it, but we also have a couple picky eaters in the group. Which do you think we'd be happier with?

Since you indicate that you have some picky eaters I would say go with the Yachtsman. Both are great but the Yachtsman has a more traditional menu.

If it wasn't for the picky eaters, I'd recommend Jiko. With picky eaters, Yachtsman may be better.

We enjoyed the quality of the food & the service much more at Yachtsman than at Jiko.
Cheers!

I feel Jiko is a far, far superior restaurant, one of the two or three best restaurants at WDW. However, it is not a good restaurant for folks who aren't adventurous eaters.

Jiko is simply the superior restaurant, with a very exotic menu. That being said, take them to Yachtsman. I'm not a big fan of it, but it will satisfy someone who is picky. For a great steakhouse experience, try Shula's over at swan/dolphin.

I'd choose Jiko as well if it weren't for the mention of picky eaters. With that said, I'd go along with the majority here and suggest Yachtsman.

Hands down, Jiko - better menu, better service, better atmosphere - Dh and I are a tiny bit more adventurous than "meat and potatoes" and LOVE the menu at Jiko. We did not enjoy Yachtsman. The food was okay but nothing special and the service was really off and made us feel strange.

I agree with shellybaxter--Jiko is far better--"better menu, better service, better atmosphere".

For the picky eaters, check out the menu online before you go. Will they eat a simple steak? If so, Jiko will be fine.

The other reason I would recommend Jiko is that you haven't been there yet. It's always nice to try a new place. :thumbsup2

I agree with an earlier post. I'd go to Shula's over Yachtsman any day. Done both recently and I feel Shula is far superior.

:thumbsup2
