"One More Waffle!" An October 2011 TR! *Update 4/24, pg 70-The End!*

That Godiva iced coffee sounds awesome :cloud9:. That's so fun how excited the CM's would be for the waffles! How did you not get one with that much enthusiasm for them??? :rotfl:

Beautiful fountain pictures!!

Omg, I HAVE the Illuminations preshow music! I am obsessed with park audio and for years I've had a lot of it, (attractions, fireworks shows, the usual) then jsut a few months ago I found out the instrumental music teacher at my school ALSO is obsessed with park audio and he had soooo much more! Including the Illuminations preshow music! If you don't have it, I would be happy to burn you a copy of it. :)

Bravo Jen! :worship: Your fountain pictures are wonderful. I really like the pictures you are getting with this camera and you have a good eye for picture content. They are a pleasure to look at.

That godiva ice coffee sounds wonderful but for $7.50 it needs a shot of liquor in it instead of all that ice. :rotfl:

Can't wait to get to F&W. So many interesting things to eat and drink. Yum!

Great update... and pictures! I got a "real" camera this year, and have yet to learn how to use everything. I did get the "dummy" book for the camera, and it was helpful, but I need to be more diligent about using all of the setting and being conscious of what I am doing! :)

Can't wait to hear about your rest day! I have never done an official rest day, so I am excited to see what you do!

That Godiva iced coffee was really good. You're right, it's super expensive though. I would have definitely had more of them too if they didn't cost so much. LOL.

Lol at the decription of the tuna in the cup!! :rotfl: I'm not a fan of sushi at all but maybe I should give it a try.

I'm happy you managed to get your beloved Godiva Iced Coffee! :thumbsup2

Wow I love your pics of the fountains!! They all look great and it must have been fun playing with the different settings!!

I wish I could see Illuminations tonight - it's the show I truly miss from our trip and would love to just be able to pop to Disney to watch it occasionally

Your pics of the fountain came out great! I have a semi-real camera (it's not a DSLR but really the only difference is I can't change my lenses)...I've had it for 2 or 3 years now and I'm still learning how to use it. I wanted to get a DSLR before our July trip but I figured I'd learn to use the camera I have before I spend a ton of money...Why buy a camera I don't know how to use, you know? Once I get better at the one I have, I'll get serious about a DSLR.

I need to find out how to get the pre-Illuminations music...it needs to be on my Ipod....

Figures that you would get stuck in traffic on the night your feet hurt so badly! At least you got to sit though and the bus wasn't standing room only.

Hooray for getting a rest day next! We've actually decided to start doing 2 rest days when we go for our long trips. When we go in July, we'll only be there for a week so we won't do one, but when we go back in 2013, we'll do one half way through the trip and then another 2 days before check-out so I can do laundry and start packing. It really is nice to just sleep in and spend a day at the pool or whatever.

Too funny you guys will be down at WDW the day after our wedding (day we leave on the cruise) until the day we return to WDW from the cruise!! :thumbsup2

I want lotso in stuffed form too, he just looks SO adorable...maybe thats why Toy Story 3 really was great, because you didnt expect it!!

I loveeeee food and wine festival I love seeing the different choices people make and what they think of them!! I actually loved the tuna cup as you called it :rotfl: but Tim didnt think much of it, he likes the rice and soy sauce of sushi more too!!

I cant believe I missed the little village being themed for food and wine, that is so cool!!

I think you made a smart choice about the September trip. That'll be a great time to go and I'm sure it's good just to have the decision made. And you never really know what will happen, you made it to see the Christmas stuff at Disney this year...

Too bad about having to clean up your shirt. I think I would have let it stay dirty and not given it a second thought. No way I'm wasting Disney time cleaning up. Of course, I'd be very sorry when my shirt was ruined later.

I bet Jeremy would have loved tuna in a cup, too. Maybe next year!

Your tuna in a cup had me :rotfl: for some reason. I must have a massive case of the sillies this morning or something! Good job on the fountain pictures...I got a "real" camera for Christmas and learning to use it is like taking Calculus or Physics or some other really hard college-level class. I'm starting to get some decent photos though, so it must be sinking in. I hope you get yours soon!

That tuna looked really gross to me! I actually like tuna when it's seared, and the middle is still pink like that, but just clumped together in that little cup was weird!

I hope I get a real camera soon, but there are so many other things I want to buy first, and I did just get my Lumix a few months ago, and that's fine for now. If I mess around with the manual settings a little more, I might get some better pictures out of it! I'm afraid to get a real camera, I want one, but they seem so complicated!

Beautiful fountain pictures!!

I don't know how I didn't get a waffle, I kept seeing people get them after we ordered and I was like "I wish I got a waffle". I did get one later in the trip, though! :thumbsup2

Thanks!

I have the Illuminations preshow music, I'm obsessed with it! :goodvibes I skip the first song (I don't really like it, I don't know why) and I go right to the 2nd every day before I go to work, and the time it takes to play those 5 songs is exactly how long my drive to work is! I LOVE it! I also have Illuminations, Wishes, some event music (although I never listen to that) and Four Parks/One World! If you have any other park music though, please let me know! Especially any of the area music loops, I love those and you can never find those on ITunes!

Bravo Jen! :worship: Your fountain pictures are wonderful. I really like the pictures you are getting with this camera and you have a good eye for picture content. They are a pleasure to look at.

Can't wait to get to F&W. So many interesting things to eat and drink. Yum!

Thanks! I don't remember what you told me to play around with, but you told me some setting and to just mess around and practice on fountains, so I did! I wish I remember what I did, though! :rotfl:

The iced coffee did have Godiva liqueur in it, but that's like nothing, in terms of alcohol. It just tasted so good, I couldn't resist!

F&W is so much fun! I wish it extended into December, though! :)

Thanks! I can't believe cameras are so complicated! I really want one, but I'm afraid to learn how to use it, if I do end up buying one, I'm going to have to take a class I think.

When we do longer trips, I like to have a day of nothing (or not much...no parks, basically!) to recover! We still ended up doing a decent amount that day, though!

I would have totally gone for the Belgian Waffle! In fact, besides those raviolis, I'm pretty I would eat all desserts if I ever get the chance to go to Food & Wine. popcorn::

That Godiva iced coffee was really good. You're right, it's super expensive though. I would have definitely had more of them too if they didn't cost so much. LOL.

Yeah, it was kind of ridiculous that they were so expensive, but they were SO good! I wonder what would happen if you asked for no ice!

I like sushi, but I like the rolls that have lots of rice and other things in them, and when the fish inside is cooked...so it's basically fake sushi that I like! Brandon likes all the weird sushi, eel and stuff, I can't do that! :rotfl:

Thanks, I was having fun taking pictures of the fountains! Especially when I started getting good ones!

I love Illuminations, I wish I could see it too! Do you have the music at least? You could always listen to it on you tube! I'm obsessed with listening to Spectromagic on you tube, since that's the one thing I don't have on my Ipod!

Thanks! I want a DSLR but I agree, I'd like to really learn how to use my camera, it has manual settings so if I could figure those out, I might get better pictures!

I found the pre-Illuminations music on ITunes, someone made a playlist and I just bought all the songs from it. I can just tell you all the songs and who they are by and you can go download them from ITunes if you can't find the playlist on there!

Well, luckily we weren't on a bus in the traffic, we were in our car, so it wasn't so bad. And we got to watch most of Wishes in the car too, which was a nice little bonus! If I had to stand on a bus, my feet would have actually shattered! :scared1:

I don't know if I could do 2 full rest days, but we always do one with the longer trips and then we'll do like half days later in the trip, when we start getting really tired!

Too funny you guys will be down at WDW the day after our wedding (day we leave on the cruise) until the day we return to WDW from the cruise!! :thumbsup2

I cant believe I missed the little village being themed for food and wine, that is so cool!!

Haha, I was just watching Toy Story 3 the other day and I was like "I really want a stuffed Lotso!" If I get one, I'll just pretend he's the good Lotso, the one before he turned evil!

I love the F&W festival too, it's probably my favorite time to go! Being in Epcot without it is weird now! I just wish it extended in to December a little, like the first week or something. I'm sure that would make Disney lots of money, they should just do it! :thumbsup2

That little village is always themed to whatever time of year it is, it's really adorable! That must be a fun job, to decorate that village!

I think you made a smart choice about the September trip. That'll be a great time to go and I'm sure it's good just to have the decision made. And you never really know what will happen, you made it to see the Christmas stuff at Disney this year...

Thanks! Well, there might actually be some changes to the September trip, I'll keep you guys posted! :rolleyes1

I did want to keep my shirt dirty, which is why I acted like a 5 year old, stomping off to clean it! I'm so messy, though, I'm surprised that doesn't happen more often in Disney World!

Haha, I don't think I could ever try that tuna in a cup! Maybe if it was covered in rice or something! :rotfl2:

I would have totally gone for the Belgian Waffle! In fact, besides those raviolis, I'm pretty I would eat all desserts if I ever get the chance to go to Food & Wine. popcorn::

Haha, don't worry, I got a waffle a different day! I think I was either full or trying to save room for something else, I don't know, but I do know I regret not getting one that night! :rotfl:

There is a lot of really good food at the Food and Wine festival, in addition to the desserts! There is still so much I didn't try, and we were there for 10 days! I don't know how much time I need to try everything there, a month?

That "tuna in a cup" looked good, but I LOVE sushi ;P

Godiva Iced Coffee sounds heavenly!!!!! :D I may need to experiement and make it at home!

I hate when you get to the point where your feet hurt.. It's like you need a day of relaxing to get them back to feeling better! :)

So many pretty pictures in this update! I need to do the same thing - play around with the settings on my camera.

LOL at tuna in a cup. I must say, it does not look appetizing.

What a great evening at Epcot, isn't the Food and Wine Festival just the best? Sigh, eight more months, eight more months. I've found myself craving the sausage in a pretzel roll they serve at the German kiosk the past couple of days. I guess the pretzel bread at Le Cellier will just have to tide me over next month. :lmao:

I liked your Illumination pictures. Can you believe that in all my trips, I've NEVER seen that show? It's on the schedule for March, so cross your fingers for me that it actually happens this time.

Can't wait to hear about your rest day. We've never done one of those, though I have penciled one in during our October 2012 plans. Although our rest day will be a pool day all day and F&W grazing for dinner. So not total rest. ;)

This fall will be our first time to F&W and after following along, I'm now thinking that we've got waaay to many ADRs planned. I guess our only options are to cancel some :sad2: or remember to pack some elastic-wasted pants :rotfl2:

Honestly, though, the portions seem kinda small. Would it make more sense to plan some "lunches" as stand-hopping or to assume that over the course of the week we'll end up trying everything as a "snack" walking through WS, and still plan ADRs like we normally do? We'll have 4 people.

Oh yeah, and do they change the food at the stands during the course of the day (lunch vs. dinner) or throughout the week?

HI,
I remember you from your ptr!
I'm here.....only 46 pages late - LOL
Sorry about that....

Off to read all about your trip!

I'm sure Jen will chime in, but for me and DBF, we liked grazing at F&W for lunch and having a TS dinner (usually a later dinner 8 or 9 p.m.). And we ended up at F&W almost every day (at some point during the day) on our October trip.

That "tuna in a cup" looked good, but I LOVE sushi ;P

Haha, it's funny, the sushi people think it looks great, but to us non-sushi people it's a little strange! :rotfl:

OMG IT IS! I should make it at home too...but then again...I don't want to develop a problem and end up on Intervention because I'm addicted to Godiva Iced coffee or something! It's that good!:thumbsup2

From this point on, my feet were done! :rotfl: I seriously need to invest in some really good walking shoes for my next trip, I was in SO much pain!

So many pretty pictures in this update! I need to do the same thing - play around with the settings on my camera.

LOL at tuna in a cup. I must say, it does not look appetizing.

Thanks! I had no idea what I was doing, just playing around and seeing what happened!

Ugh, no, it definitely did not look appetizing! I was probably making faces the whole time Brandon was eating it! :rotfl2:

I LOVE the Food and Wine festival! I can't wait to go again! Mmm, pretzel bread...I saw some kind of pretzel bread at some random grocery store the other day and I almost bought it, but then I figured I'd just be disappointed because it's not Le Cellier pretzel bread!

WHAT? You haven't seen Illuminations? OMG you have to...and make sure you pay attention to the music they play before it starts, it is the BEST! :lovestruc

Well, ours wasn't total rest either, we just didn't do any parks! But it was nice to not be walking around very much!

Hmmm...we plan a lot of ADR's too, and honestly, I didn't do anything different for this trip, except I did leave a few times that we were visiting Epcot without an ADR so we could just eat at the F&W booths. The portions are pretty small, but they are filling! And there is so much you are going to want to try, and don't forget, I'm guessing you're going to want to be drinking, so you need room for that too! :drinking1 You could definitely just plan to have lunch by booth-hopping then do an ADR for dinner later that night.

We were there for 10 days and we spent a lot of time in Epcot, and I still didn't get to try everything I wanted to! It's hard, because once you try something you like, you will probably want it again!

I don't think they change the food at the booths, they will actually release the menus sometime in the summer and they're pretty exact to what they will have at each booth for the entire festival. Maybe once the menus for this year come out, you can kind of see what you will want and adjust your ADR's if you have to!

Hi! Welcome, don't worry about being 46 pages late! I have chapter links and I'm only halfway through the trip, so there's still time to catch up! :woohoo:
