Hi, I am wondering what kind of bag you have found to be best at the parks?

I need something not too big, but bigger than a fanny pack. Big enough for a wallet, camera, sunglasses, sunscreen, maybe a hairbrush.

I went with a mini backpack last year, but found it to be kind of annoying, hard to get things out of quickly when you need them...I was thinking of going with something in a messenger style. I found this on QVC, what do you think? It's Travelon brand:

Okay, i can't seem to link to it, but if you care to see it, it's on QVC.com, called the Travelon Microsuede Travel Organizer Sholder Bag.

Please post comments as to what bag you think would work best.

I got a Baggalini after reading about them here on the DIS. When it arrived I thought, man this is small. However after using it on our trip, it was perfect! It holds much more than it looks like it would. It was very comfy and easy to get on and off.

I had our camera, hairbrush, autograph book, assorted meds/bandaids, sunglasses, cell phone, sometimes one of the kids extra shirts, IDs, credit cards, money etc. On the strap there is a small zippered pouch that was PERFECT for keeping our ticket cards/room keys and Photopass card. Easily accessible.

It worked really well for me!

I love our Baggallini Messenger Bag! It held all of our stuff and was comfortable to wear. They also come in many colors, so you're sure to find one you like. No more fanny packs for me!

My DW bought a mesh bag (Nike, I think) that she got many compliments on from security. It was easy for them to check it out quickly and for us to find what we needed without pawing through it to find what we needed.

If you cant afford the baggellini, a reg. messenger bag is my fav. its not as..... loserish as a hip-pack. but everythign is right there at your hip. I found one at wal-mart with tink on it for 5 bucks.

Another vote for the Baggallini! I had the same reaction as MomofCKJ when I got mine in the mail. I wondered how on earth I was ever going to fit everything it that little bag! But it works great!

Here's my review on it that I posted on another post about the Baggallini:

I had originally bought mine (after reading these boards and getting a great discount!) back at the beginning of summer, and was going to 'put it away' for our next Disney World trip. But I couldn't stand it! I had to take it with me when we went to Williamsburg/Busch Gardens back in July. I loved carrying it! Now every time we go on a trip of any kind I take my Baggallini. It's perfect for in the car, and for when we actually get to our destination. You see, I am a collector. When I see brochures, maps, freebies of any sort, I simply MUST pick them up to add to my 'collection'. So I have to carry some type of bag to make it easier on DH - since he would be the one carrying all of my new additions. Plus, I like to have my iPod, some candy/gum/snacks, lip gloss, sunglasses, phone, money/change, important cards, pens, a small notebook to journal in, a guidebook of where ever we're going, etc. And there's a place for everything - no digging around to find lip gloss, or some change for a coin press. I also like the way it looks. It makes me feel like I'm going on an adventure! Another reason why I like the Baggallini is because the 'water-proof' ones are REALLY water-proof! I know this from experience! While on our way to Nashville a couple of weeks ago, we had stopped at a rest stop to potty and get some snacks - we were already tired of the ones we had brought! Anyway, I had carried my Baggallini in the rest area with me. While we were choosing our snacks from the machine, an absolute downpour started. We were going to wait it out, but after about 10 minutes, we decided to just go ahead and get back on the road. Even though we weren't parked very far away, we still got absolutely SOAKED on our way back to the car. I mean we were drenched! It looked like we had fallen into a swimming pool with our clothes on! So, to make a long story a little bit shorter , when I opened my Baggallini to get my journal out, everything inside was completely dry. Not even a drop of water got in. I think that's great for rides like Splash Mt. I don't know how well it would do on something like Kali - if you were on the side that gets 'the big one', but for all the other rides, no worries.

So that is my very long review of the Baggallini. I would definitely buy it again. I've had no problems with it at all. In fact, I do plan on getting another one, in a different color!

Here's a post about it for more info:

my boyfriend bought me a cute black guess pouch that i reallly really wanted it's kinda like a stylish version of the fanny pack lol its good tho it had 3 different sections and can fit everything i need and just sits around my waist

I have both a Baggallini and a Travelon (large and small). I have taken both to WDW.

The Travelon is nice because it's upfront and everything is easily accessible. However, it did make my shoulders hurt after a while. Neither of mine zip completely (it does have a fold over pocket), so I was worried about carrying it on RNR. I have microfiber, so water wipes away.

The Baggallini was great. It holds a water bottle, plus has a TON of room. I like that it zips up completely and even has a zippered pocket on the strap for money/cell phone/etc. I would just swing it around to get things. It didn't make my back or shoulders hurt at all. Water just wipes away from this bag too.

When I got home, I ordered another Baggallini from Shoebuy. I was able to get a black one (already have purple) for $22.00 shipped.

I would opt for the Baggallini.

Another vote for the Baggallini messenger bag. Mine is bright orange so my family could spot me from far away.

I have tried both small back packs and messenger bags. I prefer the messenger bag. The strap does get a little tiresome on the shoulder ( I switch sides from time to time) but I like that I don't have to remove it on most rides or to get something from it unlike a back pack which you are constantly taking off and putting on.

I like my ll bean turbo sling pack. It has one sholder strap, and its super comfortable to wear all day

I have a back sack (the ones with the drawstrings that can be worn as a backpack or shoulder bag) that is very hand. By using it as a backpack you can ignore it and it isn't across your body in the heat. But 1) it is difficult to get into, 2) it doesn't have a water bottle place, 3) it isn't waterproof. I would love to find one that takes care of all those issues but so far no luck. I keep thinking maybe I will have to make one!

I love  my Bagallinni! I ordered it before my September trip last year and I use it all the time! It doubles as a diaper bag, too!

I plan on using it for my next trip in a few days. It fits a few diapers, wipes, a change of clothes for our DD, suncreen, our digital camera, 2 ponchos, lip gloss, money and my drivers license. It can hold more but it starts to get to big and awkward to carry. It is nice that it slings right across my chest ... I sometimes forget that it is on me.

To me it is worth every cent!

I was considering the Bagallinni, but I read some reviews that the strap you use to make it tight doesn't really work. I read several on the ebags.com site. Anyone have any trouble with that?

That would be an important feature for us because I'm 5'3 and DH is 6'3, so we would need to adjust it.

Before our trip in August, my DW and I picked up a bag similar to a baggallini at Target. It was great and held all of our stuff (camera, snacks, phones, water, etc). I loved it. So much nicer than a regular back pack over both shoulders.

I used a Mickey drawstring bag with various pockets. I got it at the hotel gift shop for about $20. It carried a lot; camera, video camera, water bottle, batteries, tickets, small wallet, etc.
