I am curious to know what others think on this. I am debating what to carry my stuff in while in the parks, a fanny pack type thing or a backpack style purse. Both are small and light weight, both hold everything I want to bring.

Here's my rational:
1) backpack purse - Pros: out of my way but easily accessable and has tink on it! Cons: have to take it off or turn it around for EVERY ride practically, weird sunburn
2) Fanny pack - Pros: mostly out of my way, even more acessable, holds camera too (otherwise camera case goes around my waist) Cons: another thing at my waist (the water bottle goes there), occasional backache (it's not big so I don't understand but sometimes it does)

All I am carrying to the parks is wallet with money and ID, KTTW card, water bottle, 2 inhailers, little camera, a little notbeook and pen and my peak flow meter (think the size of a deck of cards only a little longer). the waterbottle hangs around my waist with either option, with the backpack my camera case will hang opposite of the water bottle with everything else on my back

I have a tote type bag I bought at Old Navy today that is long enough to go across my shouders. I can't do a fanny pack. Nothing in this world will ever force me into carrying one of those.

I do have a smaller tink tote bag I bought on clearance, that could be an option too

Fanny packs hurt my back and I don;t really like them. I don't want to carry a shoulder bag purse because it throws my back out of alignment and hurts so I carry a backpack and it distributes the weight so I don't get a backache. Works great for me!

I did order a lime green baggallini messenger bag that will be here tomorrow, so maybe that will be on the next trip...I already have the baggallini lime green urban packpack and I like it a lot! it just isn't big enough for my camera.

I wear pants with deep pockets and stash money, KTTW, credit card, ID, bandaids, etc there. Add a water bottle around my waist and that's usually it. However, if we think we need ponchosor if we have a long wait for a show or parade and need paperback books, a fannypack comes, too.

My wife and I use all three.

My wife has a Rebel Xt, now a Rebel XTi, and she has a small-ish water proof camera case that holds her camera, id, parks passes, and whatever else she needs.

I usually wear cargo shorts that hold my small point and shoot digital camera and all my diabetic supplies.

When we are using the dvd camcorder, I wear a HIP PACK ("fanny pack" sounds so girly) that holds all my stuff.

On my first trip to the world 3+ years ago I carried a backpack, and that was just a pain. First, I over packed it, not knowing what I was in for at the park. Second, I had to take it off and on, and often times leave it out of sight, everytime I got on a ride. Then there was the "sweatyback" problem...:sad2:

I vote "other" cuz I luvs my Baggalini messenger bag. :cutie: After using it everyday during my last 2 trips, I can't imagine what I ever did without it!

Backpacks are too big. Fanny packs are too small (& just not my style), but baggalinis are just right. :cloud9:

We take the dreaded Fanny pack...I don't like the back pack since I don't want anything on my back to add to the sweaty ness. My DH just got a new Hip pack tht will hold two water bottles and may be able to hold his DSL camera also. We will try this on our trip the end of August and see how it goes.

We generally take a backpack, although they take up more space they also hold more space and there's alot of stuff that I can just put in a backpack and take it out when I get back to the resort.

When you have to go with a double stroller, you can take all you need,I am not sure what I will do when the kids don't need it, that day is far away!

I like the smaller sized messenger bag that I can wear over my shoulder. I have the Kipling one (which I really like, they have so many styles and colors) but I'm sure the Baggalini is similar. I get too hot with the back pack and I tend to over pack it and it becomes a hassle to access it or get on attractions. With a smaller messenger type bag you don't need to remove it to access it or to get on the attractions. I purchased a fanny pack a couple of years ago (Le Sportsac, those are great too!) but have yet to brave the fashion no-no, and it sits in my closet with the tags on it. I'm considering throwing out my entire image and trying out the fanny pack and wearing Crocs! I probably won't be brave enough, so I'll be there with my small messenger bag and Keens. Just as dorky, but somehow more acceptable in my mind.:confused3 :thumbsup2 :cutie:

I used a small packback purse my first 7 trips. It held all my stuff but I was never happy with it. (have to take it off too often, always afaid I'd hit someone when I was putting it back on, etc.) Last time I brought a small fanny back and was much happier with it. I won't go back to a backpack again.

My favorite thing to use at Disney is my fanny pack. That way I'm not carrying anything and it's just so convenient. But, the camera I have now won't fit in my fanny pack so if I use my pack, I have to also carry a camera bag. I have a Baggelini Messenger bag and I really love that. Since it's only over one shoulder, I can just slide it forward when I need something out of it and not have to take it off. It's small enough that it doesn't get in the way on rides and it'll hold my camera.

Depends...

Before kids I was all about the backpack purse. I even have one that converts to a regular purse and when it is a backpack no one can get into it without you knowing. I liked that a lot.

Now I have a little one I can't be taking that off and handling him so I switched to an across the shoulders bag. It is smallish and the rest of the stuff goes in the diaper bag with the stroller. If someone takes it, well all they get is some diapers, wipes, and water. Maybe some animal crackers or something. :rotfl:

I would love a bagallini but, it goes on your back and that won't work for me yet.

I purchased a lighweight water-resistant material pouch/purse (9West brand) with adjustable strap for criss-cross capability over the shoulder. Top zip plus outside zip pocket for easy access to key/phone. it probably measures about 9"x7" or so.

One of these days I'd like to only go with absolute necessities, KTTW card and ID. Instead I use a small backpack, the Jansport "half-pint," which is about purse size. It's also small enough that I avoid the "sweaty back" that comes with using a full-size backpack and holds everything I need except ponchos, which we've decided to not carry to the parks anyway.
