There is a difference in price of about $50 per night. Don't know if I'd like Poly. Older and very crowded feeling. Small, very crowded pool at Poly. Noisy. Chance of getting a room on the monorail line where everyone can look in your room, and oh the noise of that. I really want a balcony, and don't think that the poly rooms all have balconies, do they? I spend a lot of time at the resort and on the balcony.

Help. I have to know by tomorrow....... Last day to change ressie.

we just recently stayed at both... i loved the poly pool better..so did my 13 yearold DD and my 10 year old DD... there are balconies at most of the poly rooms... check tikimans site...we liked the poly much better...i did not feel it was crowded at all... much better places to eat in my opion at the poly....amy

It sounds like you've already made up your mind :-)

The rooms at the Poly are some of the largest in WDW, and there's lots of space to walk around the grounds or walk over to the GF. There's not too many places to walk around AKL except the pool area.

We have had wonderful stays at both resorts, although we had a savannah view at AKL and enjoyed that very much. I like both the pools. The Poly also has the beach and a second pool. I believe all AKL rooms have a balcony, but many Poly rooms do not. You could request a patio room or 3rd floor, which is smoking. There might be a few buildings with patios on the 2nd floor, but most 2nd floor rooms have a sliding door, but no balcony. It's definitely close to MK, if that's important, and easy access to Epcot. There's a variety of restaurant choices on the monorail restaurants.

Even though I've primarily mentioned the things we like at the Poly, that was just to give you more info about the resort. We'd go back to AKL in a heart beat. Good luck making the choice that feels right for you, and have a great trip!

Amen to everything corvair and kda said. To me the attraction of the AKL is the view of the animals from the balcony. My stay there was two nights which was perfect for me.

The rooms at the Polynesian are so much larger! Many rooms have balconies. All three newer longhouses have balconies on the second and third floors. We like first floor patios personally. Anyway if a balcony is important just ask for it when you make your reservation. BTW as far as I know it was only in Hawaii that third floor was smoking optional. It's closed right now.

The monorail is very quiet...makes sort of a hissing noise. I'm sure that in the few rooms that face it there is no sound if the door is closed.

The Polynesian has beautiful grounds and we find it so relaxing and peaceful. Check my signature and you'll see that we return often and that relaxing atmosphere is one of the main reasons why.

Both are beautiful and unique resorts. Have fun wherever you decide.

Thanks. Every time I think I have these decisions made, I change my mind. The Poly rate is probably not available anymore, so I may no longer have a choice.

Honestly I don't think you could go wrong with your choice, they're both wonderful resorts.

My mom use to tell me to put the 2 things in a hat and if I was disappointed with the one I pulled out then I really wanted the other one more. Worked everytime!

Have a great trip!
