One more character breakfast question

Do they open the Minnie & Friends breakfast before park opening? And if so, do they just keep you in there until park opening? We had planned on doing Goofy's Kitchen because I could get 7am PS for a 9am park opening, but I was thinking maybe it would be possible to get a 7:30am PS at Minnie & Friends.

Nope--earliest ressie for Minnie & Friends is 8:10. On EE days it opens for EE, though (no ressies at that time). Usually there are PI CMs out front of the gates drumming up business on EE days, though. Look for one of them if you want to come in on an EE day if you don't have EE.

On our trip I was trying to do the same thing..in the park early for a character meal, but we ended up at Goofy's Kitchen at 8:40am on a 10am opening day.

I read somewhere that if you try to book a late breakfast (10 ish)at Minnie and Friends you run the risk of sparse characters in attendance and less than fresh food at the buffet.

I didn't want to run the risk when shelling out that kind of cash for a character experience.

No, unlike WDW they will not allow you to go on into the pak if you have adr's for that place. Minnie at the plaza you will be stuck in the same crowds waiting til they open the gates then you will be allowed to hussle over to plaza inn. Other waise they let you through the gates, but midway up there is a rope. You and eveyone else will have to wait for them to drop it. I do know they will not give you and prior to opening time unless it's ee hours.

So you can go to Minnie & Friends during EE even if you don't have EE with your tickets or you already used your EE or have an AP? Or have I totally misunderstood?

Or have I used "or" entirely too many times in that sentence?

You can, but you must be accompanied by a Plaza Inn CM while doing it. They have to bring you in through the gates and walk you up Main Street to the restaurant.

We only get one EE this year since we're staying off property.

I just called Disney Dining and asked if I could make a ressie on an EE day or just walk-in(escorted) for Minnie and Friends. They said no.
I would have to use my EE day to eat there at EE opening or make a ressie for 9:30 since Main St opens up 30 minutes before rope drop.

Back to the drawing board.

So you can not make a PS during EE time? I'm pretty worried about not making a PS and then not being able to eat straight away. I guess I'm just worrying over nothing. As we are staying on site we wanted to use 2 EE days to do rides and them our last day (Saturday) use EE to have a character breakfast then head over to DCA for opening. So it will be OK not to make a PS for the breakfast and just go there during EE? I guess during EE most people are concentrating on the rides, not the food!!
So will there be lots of characters out at this time?

Yes, the characters are there, even during EE.
