This week's MousePlanet Walt Disney World update reports that a permit has been filed to refurbish the Disney Vacation Club sales kiosk at Disney's Contemporary Resort.

Although there has yet to be any official announcement from Disney, all signs point toward the Contemporary being home to the next DVC resort. Perhaps the sales kiosk refurbishment is necessitated by a projected increase in foot traffic in the near future.

Why would they wait until the rooms are half way built to announce BLT? I was just wondering about that last night.

I think the general consensus is that if they announced BLT earlier, there would be a number of people who would wait until sales hit, and they didn't want to lose that sale potenetial for SSR and AKV.

Now I'm sure a number of people on these boards may be holding off until BLT hits the street, but for the general population who find out about DVC while at WDW, they're not going to know about BLT and would have had two choices instead of three.

One possibility is Florida restrictions on Florida time share builders. In Florida's past, unscrupulous builders would hype a project, collect pre-orders and take forever to build. Some never got built, or only partially built and the builder would leave town.

Shorty, all sales will be pre-sales for a while won't they? Incentives are higher during pre-sale only periods aren't they? Wouldn't announcing prior to a SSR sell out be benificial in some ways?

I would agree that it's a good idea not to let the word spread too far on the arrival of the BLT lest people not order the tuna or ham sandwiches.

I for one can't wait to see what the rooms will look like....

I'm curious . . . which resort do you consider the ham? SSR or AKV?:rotfl2:

Maybe you shouldn't answer that!!!
