One last question to keep us busy!

Well, we're almost there! Soon, most everyone will be driving or "winging" their way home, and we can be proud that we did such a good job of holding "up the boards" while everyone was gone. I feel a real kinship with all the small fish/big fish/whining cheerleaders that I have gotten to know these last 4 days! We had some fun too, playing the games and talking to each other!

Now, 1 last question; it's probably been asked before, but since I'm so new to the board, I haven't seen it, so here goes. I have seen posts about what are your "holy grails", but what are your themes if you have one (or more!). And do you work JUST on that theme, or do you buy other pins too? Have you finished a theme? (Congratulations Wanda!) Do you buy mostly for yourself and your theme, or do you try to buy specific "trader" pins?

COME ON EVERYBODY! Let's finish the day with a big response!!

I like and buy everything!! So far the only theme I really seem to have going is "Easter" (5pins). But there is going to be a Dumbo theme, princess theme, Alice theme, "nostalgic" theme--see what I mean?!! I like them all!! I have been trying to buy what I think might be good traders as well as for myself. Now, if I could figure out how to trade, and find someone to trade with...................:sunny:

What is my collecting theme? 'Way too diverse, I'm afraid. I started with Pooh and friends pins ( I collected the seasonal series), Mickey (of course), I like Mickey & Minnie pairs, I am collecting this year's POM's, although I don't have all of last year's yet. I collected many pins with 2000 them ( resorts , parks, attractions). Now , I collect pins that I like and that mean something to me ( an event I attended or a characters I like), and I don't buy ones I don't like. I don't recommend buying lots of extra (expensive) pins for trading. It may turn out that the pin does not have high demand, and you get stuck with them.
The main rule is to collect what you like and enjoy the process
( trading, meeting friends). This can get to be a very expensive hobby if you let it. Mainly - have fun!

I like the pin theme so I have few continues groups of pins. My grails right now are the TIki room under new management, Woodlore ( Ilove ranger and humphrey), and Beauty with Gaston dangle. But I well and truly only just find things I like. I have many of last years POM series but didn't get them all because....I didn't like them.
I have to admit that I also collect attraction pins of my favorite places (except I have one for rock and roller coaster which I hated  It made me very sick, bad ride bad).

I only buy pins for trading occasionally for two reasons...
I am greedy. I want to keep the pins I get

2. I seem to buy traders that look good but do nothing.

My main themes are Toy Story, Pirates, Mickey/sorcerer, Fantasia, RnRC, ToT, and Haunted Mansion. Enough? ;)
And I like many.
Now I just kinda keep my eyes open for bargains and the unusual.
And you never know what will be a good trader, in MHO. Some you know right away. Some...

I have "tried" to stick to Tink and Cindy pins. Then I went on the cruise and got hooked on those. Then the 100 years seris grabbed my attention. I also pick up a pin from each of the hotels we stay at. Then I went to DL and got almost all of the 45th anniversary parade and balloon pins in one day. I also managed to get all of last years DL map pins.

That is how it goes. There are ones I have given up on. I will be trading the hat seris pins that I got early this year as I don't have a prayer of completing the set. The same for the origanal Artist Choice.

That is the joy of trading. If I lose interest I can always trade for something else.

Denise (who updated her pin pics list today)

I collect places and things. Place and things can go away but characters will stick around.

So I have, resorts, parks, minor parks (water parks, mini-golf) attractions and events.

If there is a pin that has a character on it that I like I will get it.

It is good to stay in a theme..... It is good to stay in a theme (that is my mantra to keep me on track)

Debbie

I have given this great thought:D

I collect any DL Attraction pins

Small World themed pins

Tinkerbelly pins -as my daughters call her

Megara pins

Fantasia 2000 pins

2000/2001 POM WDW

and any pin that catches my eye ;)

I would have to say that my two themes are Jessica Rabbit and park/resort business and special events. Things like the Marketing pin, Food & Wine, Flower and Garden, etc...

I'm shifting to Bug's Life, Lion King, Toy Story, dinosaurs and Haunted House. That is, until the new AKs come out ;)

Trade with me!!

Wanda

I love Mickey and try and make sure he is on every pin I have. And I almost forgot - my goal is to collect every flex pin I possiblity can.

It has been fun being on board with everyone this weekend, and just as the people in Disney World have probably made some special friends, I feel like we have done that too.

It was a great time, but I can almost quarantee that we will all be at the next event no matter what it takes.

My theme (if you could call it that) is Disney. I'm sick, I admit it. I absolutely LOVE these pins. I do try to collect anything Cinderella and Tigger. I love most of the pins but have had to calm my buying down. I'm anxious to see what everyone acquired this weekend, also. I was perusing the e*** site and did not see one new pin, so the sharks have not returned home yet. Tomorrow will be different, I guarantee it!

I take it back..they are already listed this evening. The event isn't completely over, is it?

Hi Ruthie! :)

Theme???? Well, I'm a Mickey fan so I look for pins with Mickey (or the Fab 5) on them. I love most of the Americana or 4th of July pins, the Mickey Mouse Club pins, and I'm collecting the flex pins. :D Other than that, I collect what I see that strikes my fancy. I like the PTPs too but give up any hopes of getting many of those. :(

Hmmm...I don't really collect any particular themes or sets. But I do tend to gravitate toward WDW pins, holiday pins and CM pins.

Let's see.... I have a page for Holiday pins, Cinderella pins, Wedding Pins (got married at Disney have to have these), Cruise line pins. My favorite character is Eeyore and I don't even have one pin.....How can these be..... I guess I should keep trading and buying!!!! :p

My only theme is I collect what pins remind me of my family. Gold panning Mickey, my grandfather use to take us gold panning when I was little. St. Pat's pins, I still need a Mickey, because I'm Irish on my dad's side. Wonderful World of Disney and Mickey Mouse Club, they were my two favorite shows I waited for every Sunday night when I was a kid. Paleontologist Mickey, reminds me of my son and so on.......
Other than that I like to collect anything that I like. :D
