Hi all,

Many thanks for the responses thus far!!

One last question:
After going through the board, I feel that because most of our vacations will be at WDW, we will either deed at Vero Beach or Wilderness Lodge. I've heard some negatives about Vero and think I'd feel safer that Wilderness Lodge is more popular. Am I being too paranoid about this? Any comments appreciated. Also, has anyone reserved the traditional resorts like Dixie Landings, and had trouble reserving a few months in advance? We really love that one!

Thanks,
Tony

From what I've gathered, if you want to stay at WDW, buy at WDW. Some people have had trouble getting in during the 7 month window. Seems as if most of us go during the off season, and the people who bought at VB and HH also want to come to WDW. Anyway, that's what I did. Bought BWV and have stayed at HH and exchanged points for downtown Chicago. You'll love DVC!!!!

You should buy where you plan to stay the most. The reason is that you get an 11 month reservation window there and only 7 at other resorts, and WDW resorts, particularly currently BWV, and probably in the future VWL, can be difficult to get 7 months out. Thus, if you plan to stay at WDW mostly, then buy at one of its resorts, not Vero. Reserving other Disney hotels at a few months out is usually not that difficult but always remember it is subject to availability at those hotels and there are times of year when it is difficult to get anything at those resorts, even by cash customers, if you don't reserve early

I would just like to echo that you should only buy where you think that you would most prefer to spend your hard-earned vacation time. If you want WDW, then buy there, either through DVC or resale for those properties that are closed out. Good luck!

My wife and I looked into it and we would love to stay at BWV but I can't find much on the timeshare resale boards. Plus we don't want to wait for things to go up. I'm guessing that VWL will probably be sold out soon and we could trade some points now and then with someone who bought into BWV who really wants to stay at VWL.

I'll second the posts above that say buy where you want to stay the most. I don't think that can be emphasized enough. It took a while for it to sink in for me. I finally understood after reading all the posts of people that were disappointed in not being able to get the ressies they wanted at the 7 month window. That doesn't mean that you can't get them, it just isn't as easy.

As to resales, don't always take what you see on the web pages for the resale brokers as a measure of how much is out there. If you are interested in BWV, just talk to the brokers and get on their lists. Many of the contracts are written before the property is listed on the web site. The market may be tighter now than before but there are probably properties coming up all the time. Getting on their lists doesn't obligate you to anything. If you really want to stay most of your trips at BWV, investigate a resale there before you commit.

Good luck.
