I was wondering if anyone has ever taken one of their children to Disney and left the others at home?
My children are 14, 7 and 18 months all girls. I want to take my 7 year old, just she and I. I am going on a spring music trip with my oldest daughter and the youngest one I think will get hers some day.:confused3 Just wondering if anyone has done this before and how did it go?

I haven't done it yet - but I'm doing it in October. I am taking my daughter and the fellas are having a guys' weekend at home. We all went last year - the boys weren't that into it and my girlie was. She has asked to go back so many times. I do plan on doing the same thing with the fellas when they are a bit older (wherever they would be interested in going) - but for now, my good friend is taking her daughter, I'm taking mine and we're gonna have a ball! I can't wait - the boys know and they were like "whatever"!

Have fun!

I have done this with each of my children. We call it a "mommy and me" trip. I love spending uninterrupted time with each child. I think they really appreciate the undivided attention I can give to them. As they have gotten older (now 8, 6, and 6), their interests have become unique, so it is wonderful to be able to devote the entire trip to doing what interests them. In our family, every day requires compromise, so it is such a treat to allow each child the freedom to choose what he or she wants to do, see, and even where to dine. It also feels luxurious to look after just one child!

While I am on a trip with one of our children, my husband stays home with the others. My Mom helps out a lot and we plan fun activities for them to do while at home (playing miniature golf, going to a favorite pizza restaurant, etc.). I also wrap up a small gift for each of them to open for every day we are away so they have something to look forward to each day as well. I feel so blessed to have been able to spend one on one time with each of my children. While our next trip to Disney will likely be a family trip, all of the kids have asked when we will do another "Mommy amd Me" trip again. I cherish the memories I have with each child and hope to make new ones as the years go by.
