Hi all ... (talk about a stretch to get some attention! )

Just as Paul Revere warned the patriots about the British, I was hoping some of you could warn me about the traffic! Having only driven once (from Long Island to WDW), I was wondering about your opinions for the best day/time to leave. We are driving down again in July and are very flexible. Some of my thoughts are: the various rush hours in major cities, the potential for late night partiers on the road on weekend nights, "Sunday drivers", etc.. We will be traveling I95 with at least one stop over.
Any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated! I know there's a wealth of knowledge out there!

We have noticed a lot of traffic on Saturdays. Especially around South Carolina. This is do to Costal vacation areas. If you are renting a beach home check in and out is usually on a Saturday. We try not to travel on Saturdays just for that reason.

We either will drive Friday but much prefer to drive on Sunday. We find traffic to be lighter on Sundays. No rush hour traffic to mess with and most Sunday drivers don't drive on the major highways. Just my oppion.

I agree with momof2sons.

We have taken many cross country trips uusally a month long when we camp in thes summer.

We always intentionally leave on sunday mornings. Traffic is light, and it's always easy to find a campsite or hotel room on a sunday night. Get's the trip off on the right foot.

Have a safe trip.

Thanks for the input, I really appreciate it! I think we are leaning toward a really early Sunday start.

Thanks again.
