OK my question is, we have invited a friend to come with us on our vacation. She is 10. I do not have a magical express ticket for her. Is this going to be a problem or is there a way around it?

Is she on your room reservation? If so, you can call ME and have her added. If she has checked luggage, save the baggage claim ticket for it and give it to the ME counter person and describe the bag. They'll pull the bag and include it with the rest of the luggage being delivered to the resort.

If she isn't listed on the reservation, she can't take ME, though. If that's the case, then you'll need to figure out other transportation either for the child and another adult, or for your whole party if you can't split up. If you can split up, then the adult and the child can go to Mears, buy a one-way ticket to the resort and go on a Mears bus (which might be the same ME bus). Or you can take a cab.

I didn't add her to the reservation because they were going to make us get another room just for her!!! I guess we take Mears! I will send the rest of the clan on the bus. Any suggestions for transportation from Contemporary to Universal for 6 people?

She must be on your reservation for her to use ME. If you did not add her to your reservation because you are afraid they'd make you get another room that is a whole other fiasco.popcorn::
Some one in your party will have to travel with her on the Mears shuttle. You can not book the shuttle in advance because Mears does not go to the resorts now that there is ME. When you arrive at the airport you can go to the kiosks for Mears, I believe they are on the same level as ME and book your transportation then. They may even put you on a ME bus, but they may put you on their shuttle that will stop at other off site hotels.
I am not sure what you do to get back to the airport, you may get another answer about that.

Rent a car for the day, taxi or Mears transportation.

With Mears you would have to call 24 hours ahead of time to make arrangements. The adult round trip is $18.00 but it's less for children. You would tell them where you're staying and what time you want to leave and be picked up. The shuttle will stop at other Disney hotels so that might delay you a bit.

You and check out the website for more information: www.mearstransportation.com[/COLOR]

No, she cannot go on the ME bus unless you add her to your room reservation.

And if she is not on your room reservation then she will not have a room key. This means not only no ME, but also no EMH.

You will need to find other transportation for her.

If they were going to make you get another room than I'm going to take a guess that that means by bringing her you are going over the alloted room capacity. You are risking your entire vacation by doing this. If Disney finds out that you are over the alloted capacity you *may* all be asked to leave or *may* be forced to get another (2nd) room anyways. Just as an FYI it is against disboard policies to ask for help on situations that violate Disney's policy and finding a way to circumvent the room capacity is a violation of their policy.

It looks to me as if you have painted yourself into a corner.

You will need to find other transpo... er, lodging for her.

If another Disney's resort room is out of the question then this could take the form of renting a car and booking an auxiliary room off site. Actually you would probably split up so not just one person is out there.

What they've said. You won't be able to stay for Extra Magic Hours. If they find out you're over the room capacity (which is done for fire and safety reasons) they may very well ask (MAKE) you get another room or leave the property entirely.

There are a lot of variables in a Disney vacation - the number of people maximum in a room is a constant.

No.

You need to go back and book a room that you all fit in. Not only will your "extra" guest not be able to use Magical Express, they will not be able to get into any Extra Magic Hours at Disney. You have to have a room key, and your "extra" guest won't have one.

Keep in mind too that if you are caught with an extra person in your room you will either be required to get another room at rack rate or asked to leave. And if there isn't another room available, you will have to leave.

Disney room occupency limits are in place to help keep everyone safe. If you are caught they will do something about it as turning a blind eye would cost them a small fortune in fines. Easy enough for the maid or whoever is checking you in to your room to see you are over the limit. Don't do it.

Beside what the others have said - risk being asked to leave, no ME, and no early/late hours - you will not be able to have her on the dining plan if you have it. If you are over room capacity, what exactly do you expect to do for her to sleep - not to mention being overcrowded. Sorry but its not worth all the trouble - I would just get a room to fit all of you or consider staying off-site if that is the only other option. If you end up taking her, make sure you have a copy of a medical insurance card and a notorized letter signed by her parents stating that you are allowed to make medical decision for her.
