Hi everyone. I'm taking my 15 year old son for one day to Universal. He is really into roller coasters (although not crazy about ones that invert) and not a Harry Potter Fan (only saw one movie and it wasn't his thing). We are big time disney but have never been to Universal. What should we do? One park vs the other? Which ticket should we get? Thanks!

Check out the park maps so you know in advance what rides, shows, eateries, etc are located in the parks

Check out the trip report forums for tips and how others handled their time in the parks

Hope your day at UO will be fun!

I recommend park to park tickets. Lots of fun rides in both parks. Use their mobile app to track wait times unless you splurge on Express Passes.

He should definitely do the main Harry Potter ride(s), as they are so unique they are worth doing even for non-fans. Forbidden Journey in particular is a really cool ride mechanism.

Otherwise, one park or two, and which park, is up to your touring style and budget. Check on which rides are most appealing and base your park choice or priorities on that.

I would probably recommend doing one park, unless you are also getting Express Passes or are okay doing single rider lines. Otherwise it'd be a rush to try to get stuff in. You can always upgrade your ticket to park-to-park while you are there if you find you have time for the second park.
