One day Universal in May question plz

My son and I will have one day to spend at Universal either Thursday, May 27th or Friday, the 28th? Would crowds vary significantly between these 2 days? Also we will be staying offsite so when should we arrive since we will not have EE? Any insights are greatly appreciated!

We will be there from Wed-Mon that same weekend. I think it will be busy in general because it is a holiday weekend, but Saturdays and Sundays seem to be even more packed, based on posts from a FB US group. I would opt for the park on Thursday.

As far as arrival, I am reading here to be at the gates at least an hour before opening if you do not have EE, but really don't know. This will be our first trip in 20 years. Hopefully someone who has been on a holiday week will be able to chime in!

I would choose the Thursday since I imagine many trips will be a Friday to Monday 4 day weekend. We went on a Wednesday in early December and both parks were light.

Does Universal get “dead” right before close like Disney? I don’t think we can make it before 9 am so I thought a better strategy may be to stay until close! Also any idea what hours will be May 26-29th? Thanks for all the info!

It doesn't go dead. But they do let everyone ride whatever line they are in before close
