Any advice on a good one day touring plan for both parks? I have no idea where to start. Is there a planning website you prefer? We will have 1 day park-to-park tickets and I can list the main attractions we really want to see. We are going in August so hopefully Kong and Hulk will be open. I know we can't see everything but we definitely have some must-dos. As you know it is pretty expensive for just a 1 day trip for our family of 4 but due to time constraints and budget this was the only option. Below are our hopefully must-do's
both Harry Potter worlds-- rides Gringotts, Forbidden Journey are a must, Dragon challenge only if there was a short enough wait and time allowed.. I don't think we will need to spend a ton of time in each land, maybe an hour each? and also ride HE
IOA--Kong, Hulk, Spiderman, Jurassic Park ride and area, 1 of the water rides
US-- Simpsons land, Mummy, MIB, HRRR (if we don't chicken out), Transformers (only if we have time)

What do you think? I plan for us to be there before park opening and stay til 5 or 6ish? It will be August so hot as heck but plan on having a sit down lunch to break up the day and hopefully with all the indoor attractions it won't be too bad. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Also wanted to add that at this time I don't think we can afford Express passes. The day that I have tentatively planned is a mid-week day, not the weekend. It is towards the end of August so hopefully the crowds will not be as bad as say July, etc..

There could still be crowds at that time

Near the end of the month hotel rates are less since crowds will be down then

Go early to the park and wait for opening
If potter is #1 in your list head there first
Use HE to go to the other potter section/ other park
Use single rider lines when possible as it will save you time

Lines for hulk and Kong will draw many away from some of the other rides you listed you want to do

TF, mib, Spider-Man have SRL so shirt waits for those rides

If you plan on exploring both HP areas for a while, you may want to head there first thing while it's less crowded (probably starting with Hogsmeade as Diagon will have plenty of resort guests already there for early entry). If you just want to ride FJ/Gringotts, heading straight to those rides will still be an option, but Kong might be your priority. It remains to be seen if Kong's popularity will exceed HP, and we don't know Kong's capacity (or maybe someone does, but I don't lol) or how fast that line will move, so you might want to watch the boards in the weeks/days leading up to your trip before committing to a plan. If Kong is regularly seeing 3 hour waits or something like that during the day, I'd certainly recommend heading there at rope drop. We'll see.
