I thought I would write as, I know that John (or was it Kevin) asked who buys one day tickets anymore?

Well I wanted to state that I was a person that did just recently. We have a trip planned in just a few days and we decided instead of spending a free day at the resorts that we are going to add an extra Epcot day to our trip and take two tours... So I needed another tickets (as I only had 4 No Expire left from my last trip).

I would have bought more as I know I save more money that way but with the cost of the two tours I decided to just get the single day, and save more money for gas.

My partner also got a one day-one park ticket last year when he went to WDW to meet some business partners. The company reimbursed him for the ticket, so he didn't care how much it cost. Must be nice, huh?

I know people who want one day tickets too. I have a few friends, mostly couples, only one has children that vacation in Orlando, but not specifically Disney, but they all usually do Disney a day, one loves just going to Magic Kingdom, one loves Epcot and I know they balked at the $71 ticket price and all have told me they wish they could get a half day ticket.

That was me :rolleyes1

I realize Disney may still sell some one-day tickets but my 'theory' is even locals who used to buy 1-day tickets are now buying mult-day tickets when they see the savings per day.

I beleive that the amount of one-day tickets Disney sells is a tiny percentage of overall ticket sales. I could be dead wrong, I have no concrete numbers to back that up.

I think they can do something that still makes them money while changing the message from 'WDW is $75'.

I totally agree...but I also think Disney is going to miss even that tiny percentage of
one day ticket buyers very soon and the "WDW is $75" is a really bad message right now.

Newscaster I heard reporting on Disney ticket increase....
"While people are struggling with high prices on basic necessities like gas and food,
Disney has announced a ticket price increase for their theme parks, one day at Disney
will now cost you $75."

I posted this on a different thread but it applies here:

We have a different situation regarding the one day park passes. We have family that lives 45 min away so whenever we go to visit, we try to do a day in a Disney park. Until we bought the 10 day no expiration tickets, we were buying one day tickets. So, there ya go. It's people like us who would still buy those silly one days tickets.

The 10 day no expiration passes without park hopping is cheaper by far, but quite costly up front and we aren't always ready to put up the cash for a 10 day no exp for the whole family (4 people) - we have 3 "adults" and 1 child - the current base price is $420.75 per 10 day adult pass and $388.00 per child pass so for our family, it would cost us $1650.25 up front for us to all get a 10 day no expiration pass. Granted, that is a signifigant savings off the gate price but still a huge pill to swallow when your intent is just to do one day visits.

Darn, this Disney OCD!

Oh I completely agree. Had I had extra money at that moment I would have gotten more tickets with No Expire. It is a tough pill to swallow at $71 (at that time) for one day.
