Teens are 17 and 15 (brothers.) The 17 year old runs a lot of of the Run Disney races with me so he has been several times in the last few years, but the 15 year old hasn't been since 2012!!! I was planning to let them spend time on their own, but I will need to book their FP for them this coming weekend. We're staying at WL.

Park opens at 9 am but the morning EMH allows them to get in at 8 am.
Would the bus be their best bet, transportation wise, to get there early in the morning? Thoughts on how early they should go if they don't want to be trapped in a huge crowd at the entrance? They will probably not bring any bags with them.
I know that not everything is open for EMH, and it's mostly Tomorrowland and Fantasyland

I was thinking of advising them:

8:00--hit Space mountain first
-Buzz Lightyear
-Speedway
-astro orbiter

9:00-Rest of the park opens, head towards Adventureland
-Jungle Cruise
-Pirates of the Caribbean
-Haunted Mansion
-Hall of Presidents (if open?)
other attractions in the Adventureland/Liberty Square area

11:10 am--we have an ADR for BOG lunch

11:30-12:30 FP for 7 Dwarfs mine train (hoping to get!)
so go to 7 Dwarfs right after lunch, then hit a few other Fantasyland attractions with shorter lines (teacups? It's a small world?)

12:30-1:30 FP for Thunder Mountain--try to hit that at the end of the period, closer to 1:30

1:30-2:30 FP for Splash mountain--hopefully will be able to roll right into that right after Thunder mountain.

Once that 3rd fastpass has been used, I'd hope to get them a 4th fast pass for Peter Pan...

But with the above plan, they will have hit all of their "Must do" things by 1:45 ish...and will have the rest of the day to get "everything else" or even go back to the hotel for a break if it is too hot.

Later in the day we do have a dinner reservation at 5:30 at Skippers Canteen, and they will definitely want to see the fireworks at night.

Does the above plan sound realistic/do-able? Would they be better off trying to get on Peter Pan, immediately in the morning, instead of Space Mountain? Space Mountain is a bigger priority for them, but I wasn't sure if Peter Pan tends to have a longer line...

It's a good plan. I would recommend trying to sneak on Peter Pan before 9 o'clock on the way over to Adventureland. Assuming the wait is 10 minutes or less before the 9 o'clock crowd gets there, it should not have much of an impact on the timing of your Adventureland attractions.

Edit: Another option would be to FP Peter Pan and take your chances at a 4th FP for Big Thunder, or even standby. The standby wait at BTM will not be as bad as Peter Pan, and you will have a better chance at getting a 4th FP.

That's a lot of criss crossing, IMHO. Personally, I would probably do the attractions in Tomorrowland and Fantasyland until your BOG reservation, head into Liberty Square, then BTMRR and Splash and hit the Adventureland attractions around your Skipper Canteen reservation. Otherwise, you are criss-crossing the park about 3 times.

For teenagers, I think it's more important to catch Jungle Cruise, Pirates, and HM before the crowds build than it would be to catch Pooh, Dumbo, and the Teacups.

I'm not a proponent of crisscrossing the parks by any means, but trying to do Jungle Cruise and Pirates without a FP around dinner time is asking for a long wait. And, in reality, depending on where you are at in Tomorrowland, you may be just as close to Jungle Cruise as you are Small World.

I never proposed they do any of the rides without FP+. When re-ordering lands, you would need to re-prioritize FP+ based on what time of day you get there. No matter how you slice it, you will find lines building at Space Mountain, 7DMT, Splash, BTMRR, Pirates, Jungle Cruise, PP as the day wears on. So, pick your poison.

Right now, plan is Tomorrowland, Adventureland, Fantasyland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, Adventureland. IMHO, too much crisscrossing no matter how old you are, especially in August, but, to each his own.

We had an EMH morning at MK and we did:
Space Mountain, Buzz, Speedway (time sucker.) By that time it was almost 9 and we went over to Frontierland and got there right when they dropped the rope. Rode Splash & BTMRR. We then headed over to HM for our 10am FP and actually had to wait quite a bit for it. In hindsight we should have just gotten in line. We then went to Fantasyland and did IASW, Tea Cups, Dumbo, FP 7DMT lunch BOG and FP Peter Pan.

In my opinion, if they do not want to ride BTMRR or Splash more than once, I would just send them to Frontierland at 9, then to Adventureland with FP for Pirates and Jungle (or just one?) and use the other FP for 7DMT & Peter Pan (if only using one in Adventureland.) Schedule Fantasyland FP for after your ADR.
