My husband and I are going to be in the Orlando area on June 1st, and would like to spend that day in the MK. Can it be done in one day, and what is the best way to go about it without pooping out too early? Also, what can I expect weather wise? Thanks for any help!:earsgirl:

First, I notice this is your first post, welcome to the DIS. It is a great place to find all the info needed for a great trip!!!

You'll never see all of it, but you can do more than enough to make it worth the visit. However, I think any visit is worth it-- so what do I know :D. Anyhow, pick out the top 3 rides/attractions you would like to do, then base your plan of attack around that. Try to get there at opening and stay til closing. This can be done w/ out running yourself ragged.

Make a nice lunch or dinner PS. There should still be some availability for something nice. A nice sit down meal helps take a load off for awhile and getting in out of the sun can be energizing.

We always grab our parade seats on Main Street about a good 45-60 minutes early. We get a snack and relax. We don't look at it as wasted time, because it's a good way for us to take a load off for awhile, and be ready to go again once the parade is over with.

Welcome!! :flower3:

Can it be done in 1 day, nope, 10 days, nope, 10 visits, probably not. But that's what all the magic is about! I agree with the above pick a few things that you definetly wanna do and target them, or you can scan these boards and end up extending your trip to try and do more!!!!!

BTW, when do you plan on going, that also plays into how much you can get done based on crowds, etc.

These boards are great you can find out lots of info!!!!!

Beginning of June is still supposed to be a little slower. You won't have kids to argue with screaming "I want" every ten feet. There'll probably be some rides that just don't appeal to either of you. I doubt you'll be waiting in line to ride Dumbo, and It's a Small World is going to be shut down.

Don't let the stroller pushers tell you otherwise. It can be done in a day easy. Some people wish they could move in, but that's just the magic rubbing off. That's why we keep going back. It in no way reflects on the actual size of the park or number of attractions to be seen.

But if you want to plan on a nice dinner make your PS now. For a one day trip may I suggest Crystal Pallace for dinner. You'll be hanging out with Pooh and friends. Cinderella's Royal Table is also a fun place to eat.

And just to avoid the time consuming "what next" syndrome (that's where you spend half your day staring at a park map trying to decide what attraction to go to next and figuring out how to get there) start researching the rides and park layout before you go.

Can it be done in one day???? Not by me! I have never been able to accomplish that park in one day, with or without kids. And I always go off season when rides are walk-on or have a 5 minute wait. There is just too much to see. But any day spent there is a GREAT day. You will get to see and do alot if you plan carefully.

Since you are not going with children (and if you do not have an interest in it) skip the parade and try to get into the more popular rides then. They tend to have smaller lines during parade time.

I agree with the other posters - pick out the things that are MUST do's and hit those first. Then, anything else you manage to get to do, will be extra.

I also agree to start out early and stay late. Make sure you are in the hub when the rope drops. This way you should be able to get in the first 3-4 things on your list before the lines get long.

Eat at off times - lunch at 11 am or 2 pm. This will help to cut down on some wait time during meals.

These boards will be able to give you lots of advise so have fun planning and whatever you manage to see and do on that ONE day, it will be a MAGCIAL day.

Good Luck.

no way can it be done in a day - but don't let that stop you from enjoying a day at MK. Just be sure to have a game plan worked out in advance, or it could wind up being a very frustrating and countr productive day. UNless you just plan on walking around all day and going site seeing or shopping. If you want to hit rides have a plan.

Thanks to everyone for all your tips. As you can tell, I'm new to these boards, not to mention Disney World. I'm a pro when it comes to DisneyLand, but I've never ventured to the Eastern Seaboard.

In order to pick the attractions that we want to see, can anyone tell me what rides are Fast Pass? Or is there someplace easy to access that this is posted? What other dining options do you guys recommend? We are celebrating our 14th anniversary at the MK. We have a moderate amount of money to spend on a nice meal. This is the first time we have ventured out alone since our twin girls were born 2 years ago, so we want to make the most of it.

Thanks in advance.

I think that you can hit the highlights in one day. I would read the Magic Kingdom section in Bob Sehlinger's Unofficial Guide. Make sure that you get to the park before it opens and avoid parades unless you have a big love for them. Take some time in the afternoon to enjoy a nice lunch and just stroll a bit so you don't get overly tired. Many people love to ride the monorail to one of the monorail resorts to enjoy a quiet lunch. You might want to check the Restaurant Board for some info.

I tried to access the FastPass section on this website but got an error message. Here's a link to FastPass info on wdwig.com (now allearsnet.com) : FastPass Just scroll down for those rides that have FastPass.

And welcome to the DIS!

I just came back, and used the unofficial guide as my guide. It was well worth the money. It saved us a ton of aggravation, since by using the book, we didn't have to rely on FASTPASS that much. We followed the plan in the book, skipping things we didn't care about and adding a couple of others. There were very few rides that had a wait longer than 20 minutes. We did MK in one day (had no choice), but we had 2 adults, and one teen, so no little ones, which does help cut down on what you want to see...... have fun!

Here's what we did Saturday, February 21, 2004 tail end of President's week.

We arrived at the gates to MK 25 minutes prior to opening. As soon as they let everyone in here's what we did in the following order:

Buzz Lightyear
Space Mountain
Winnie the Pooh
Snow White
Peter Pan
It's a Small World
Mickey's Philarmagic
Haunted Mansion
Got Fast Pass for Splash Mountain then
went on Big Thunder Mountain
Had lunch at Pecos Bills 12:30pm
Used our Fast Pass for Splash
Got Fast Pass for Jungle Cruise
Country Bear Jamboree
The Enchanted Tiki Room
Used Fast Pass for Jungle Cruise
Left park at 2:45pm checked into the Dolphin and took a pool break
5:45pm walked over to Epcot and my DH and DS's rode Mission Space
took monorail over to MK 7pm
ate a quick counter service dinner
watched Spectromagic 8pm
watched Fireworks 9pm
rode Big Thunder Mountain
Splash Mountain
Pirates of the Caribbean
Park closed at 10:00pm
When we got back to our room we were exhausted. But we felt like we had accomplished quite a bit and saw everything we wanted to.

:faint: :sunny:
