Hello,
We're planning our first trip to California and DL. We are a family of 5, with children ages 6, 8, and 18.

The plan is to fly into LAX around 1:00 a.m. on Thursday night, I would like to do a tour of the "must-sees" in LA on Friday before heading to DL.

So, can anyone recommend a private (or not) tour company that would show us some of the LA sights? Hoping for the Hollywood Sign, Walk of Fame, and a few celebrity homes?

Is there a tour that would pick us up at our hotel, do the tour, and then take us to DL?

What are some good hotels to stay at near LAX? We would prefer a hotel with a shuttle, given the late hour and young children, so we can get them into bed.

Thanks for the advice! We're planning a fantastic trip! After our days at DL, we're driving to Phoenix to start a tour with ABD. I just want to squeeze as much as possible into our days in California!

Most of the hotels on Century have shuttles, and are pretty comparable. If you find a tour that's round trip from the hotel, you could always take the shuttle back to the airport and book a DLR shuttle from there. Starline does LA tours from Anaheim, you could ask if they'll do pick up and drop off at different hotels.

We did the Grayline tour of LA/Hollywood. Good tour- from like 9 am-6 pm. Picked us up at hotel in Anaheim and dropped us off. Went all over with several stops- Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach were the last stops. Also did Hollywood (Gromans Chinese Theatre, Dolby Theatre) and the LA Farmers Market.

How much time did they give you to roam around Santa Monica Pier?

I want to say an hour and a half. It was plenty of time. Less time at Venice Beach- which was fine by us. We did not care for Venice Beach at all.
