I am co chairing our school's fall festival this Friday night. Disney came through for us (again) and donated 4 one day hopper passes. Does anyone have an idea what the retail value of these would be? They say complimentary on the back and have an expiration date of 10/06. I am trying to help our silent auction person set an opening bid and am also thinking about bidding on them myself to have as backup for family members. They'd make awesome Christmas presents!

Thanks in Advance.

The fact that WDW does not sell One-Day Park Hopper Passes makes it hard to put a firm value on them. My advice would to price them each around the the price of the One-Day/One Park ticket.

Hope This Helps,

I figure start the bidding at ~75 for all four. The auction goes for three hours. I myself wouldn't personally bid over ~$200 for all four.

$130 for all four. I am sure people will recognize the value and potentially bid up. Don't give them away. It seems like we are having an auction now. LOL!

I see you are from Columbus, Ga. You wouldn't happen to be an Auburn fan?

A 1 day/1 park is nearly $60 including tax. You would be well within reason appraising them at a retail of $65-70 each.

I agree about the value. In the past people have overlooked the board with the different gift certificates. I managed to get lucky and get a certificate for my dog groomer for half what I normally pay her. My big "steal" last year was two certificates from one of our better photographers. She had donated 4 certificates for 1 each 11X14 portrait and sitting fee. I scooped two of them up for $15 & $20 each. Concidering that her 8X10's cost me $40 each not counting her ~$40 sitting fee I got a real bargain. This year we have Air Tran tickets, designer evening bags donated by a featured HGTV designer(her retail was $600 per purse) and Dollywood tickets. NASCAR tickets, you name it. Can't forget my checkbook! I appreciate all the advice, I think I'll tell her to start the bidding for the set of 4 at ~$150.

Isn't a one day pass to any of the four parks $58? If you were to really buy four one-day park tickets at Disney, they'd be well over $200. But yes, starting the bidding around $150 seems quite sensible. Always be prepared to break $200. Plus, Disney tickets are worth a lot already as it is, being such a great place! :p

Universal offers a one day park hopper pass that retails for about $70. (Yes, you can buy it at the gate). And that's only for two parks.

For a Disney one day hopper, I'd have to put a value of somewhere between $90 and $100.

But for an auction, I'd start the bidding at $75 per ticket.

thanks guys, I passed this info on to the silent auction chair. I think we're going to start them out low so that everyone feels that they have a chance at them.

Someone got a bargain the tickets topped out at less than $200 for all four!

My wife has begged and begged to get back to the food and wine before it ends. So I told her to pick a date and we'll go.

So what day does she pick??? Nov 13th.

Doesn't she know this is the day the DAWGS whoop up on UA.

RCRAW whoever got those ticket should be arrested for stealing them at that price.

Whoever sold those tickets should be arrested for scalping them (complimentary means purchase price = 0.00).

Just kidding.

Part of the fun of an auction is having the bidding start low. Even eBay suggests starting the bidding low just to get the momentum going. If you are trying to get top dollar for something, a charity auction is really not the place to go.
