one day event insurance recommendation

Anyone know of a decent place for getting one day event insurance (we are having a one day baby/children's sale at a local fire house and they require event insurance)? I have found a few places online, but would rather go with some personal experiences...thanks! My regular insurance co. won't do it more than 30 days prior to the event, but I need the insurance now to secure the date/location.

I do this all the time with Girl Scouts through Mutual of Omaha...but that might be a national Girl Scout policy we are just accessing. But you might give them a call. Who is hosting the sale? If it is a nonprofit group, it is likely they can add it to their policy.

I was also going to suggest Mutual of Omaha - since that is who Girl Scouts requires you to use if your troop needs additional insurance.

Girl Scouts gets really good reates, so it is dirt cheap, with a $5 minimum, if I recall correctly.

I would think it woul be a rider on the facility's liability insurance. If the facility sets it up, but you pay for it, they would be sure to get the coverage they want.

thanks for the info. I will call Mutual of Omaha...it is a group of families hosting the sale, so we have to provide our own certificate of liability. The firehouse requires this for all rentals, which are usually things like parties, showers, etc. Hopefully this works!!

I agree to check with the firehouse as they may be able to put a rider on for that day. Generally this also tends to be the lowest cost option. When I worked with 4H groups we had a main policy for horse shows through the committee and any other group wanting one just had to pay for their day.
