We are flying in to Orlando and will need to get items at the grocery. Is it a better deal to rent a car for a day, do the grocery delivery service or just get a cab? We're staying at BCV. Any suggestions... Thank you for any help anyone can give me...

It might be more convenient to rent a car for the day. It's very easy to walk over to the Dolphin to pick it up or drop off a car from National or Alamo. But I don't know if it will be cheaper. There aren't any coupons, that I know of, for one-day rentals. I would start checking the Alamo and National websites for the day you want to rent and try using the different codes mentioned on Mousesavers. If you find a good one-day rate, book it right away. If you can't find a good rate, plan to spend between $20-$30 for a cab to the grocery store.

ETA: With the right coupon, it may end up cheaper to rent a car for a weekend than it would be to get it for just one day.

I totally agree with the above...we rent for weekend(look for deals, easy to rebook if better one appears ) at the Dolphin or sometimes rent another company that has a site on Hotel Plaza Blvd...all companies will pick you up but easy walk from DTD too. I like having car for weekend go over to Publix by the outlet mall(hit the Disney outlet) and eat off property too , there are many restaurants right at the end of Hotel Plaza Blvd in the Crossroads Shopping center and there is a nice Longhorn steak house right before the outlet mall too there might be others I forget right now and I was just there yesterday???? :goodvibes

A friend and I rented one last August for a day just to go to the food store. The car cost us $35. My friend picked it up, we met for dinner, and then went to the store for both families. It was nice not having to rush while a cab is waiting, or being dropped off, then having to call for a return ride. From asking around we found that it is about $40 to do the cab bit, so I guess it is just personal preference at that point. It isn't a cost savings per se, but it is nice just to go at your own pace.
