One day car rental on property? rates yikes!

trying to set up a one day rental from the WDW car care center with Alamo in May and man the rates are crazy!!!

I have tried mousesavers for codes and Visa for codes and so far I can not get even an economy car reserved for under $71 for one day!!

Anyone have any advice..We are planning to drive to the beach on Monday May 20th and so we plan to just pick up the car in the morning and return it the same day or next morning. Last time we did this it was only about $25 for the day??

Is this price typical for right now or should I hold off and wait till closer and just keep checking for specials or disount codes?

Crazy, but if we want to go to the beach I may just have to reserve it

Check National as well. And check the other local rental places like at the Dolphin (I think that's National).

If you will be going to the beach and have to have the car, book it. You can modify the reservation later if you find coupon/code to lower the cost.

Be sure to check with all the other car rental agencies too. There is a sticky at the top of this forum that has good info about which agencies have locations on property.

That's because you are look way to soon. The closer you get to your travel date the rates will come down.

I also find sometimes the rates are lower if you actually keep the car overnight.

Monday is the only day of our trip that we don't have something planned and Mom flies home on Wednesday so I will need to stick with a rental on Monday May 20th.

I also will be at AKV so I need to rent on property and so I am limited to National and Alamo..Bummer

So I called Alamo and got a bit of a cheaper rate so I held it for now, but she said keep checking as it gets closer for lower rates...

I am CXL our breakfast at Boma for 3 so the car is actually cheaper than breakfast would be...LOL So all is good..

I am just going to check for codes and deals up till we leave.

Just because monday is the only day you can go does not mean that you cant still rent a car for extra days including monday if that gives you a better deal.Glad you got a better rate for the one day though hopefully it will get even better.
