One Day car rental from AKL

I know this probably should go in the Transportation thread, but I have looked thru there and found some care rental suggestions..but I was curious what my DVC's would say for the following:

We need a car for SURE for 1 day on the 12th mid afternoon to night.

BUT we COULD use a car on the 11th also from AKL to go to ESPN to pick up race packets and back.

So my thought was to check into a 2 day rental...

If it was 1 day - we could pick up from the car care center. Not sure if we cand do a drop off.

But if we do a second day it would be from AKL Kidani... Not sure what is the closest to there. Any suggestions....is it best go to the Dolphin / example take bus to MGM, then to dolphin. Or another company that can pick us up and take us there to rent it. Etc.

When we were at SSR we need a car for 1 day and my DH called and they picked him up and dropped him off. I think it was Enterprise.

Any of the major car rental companies should pick you up and/or drop you off at your resort. Don't be too concerned about picking a car rental company on WDW property.

There's a Hertz corporate location on highway 192 near AKL.

I found one that will pick us up..and the drop off can be done at the Dolhin hotel after hours.

Isn't there a bus/boat we can take from Dolphin to MGM and then bus to AKL.

Take the boat to MGM and then get on the bus to AKL or catch a bus to DTD and then onto AKL

We stayed at Kidani a year ago and booked National. We were told to call at least 1 hr before we wanted to be picked up. A van was there in 20 minutes to take us to the Care Care Center (after making a couple of other stops). They won't pick you up at the parks, but I've read on this board that they will drop you off at a park.

Be prepared- the Care Care Center doesn't have Emerald Aisle, and we waited over 1/2 hr to get our car, with ~ 5 people in line ahead of us and 2 staff working.
