One day at Disneyland Paris-what should I see??

I have booked a 15 day trip to Europe this summer, and will have two days in Paris. I am definitely going to go to Disneyland for one of the two days and would love any advice on what to see! Is it feasible to do the studios and DLP in one day, or should I just choose one park and stick to it? If I have to choose one park, it would likely be Disneyland. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks.

What month are you planning to go - it may make a difference as to whether you should try and visit on a weekday if you can.

The general opinion is that if you've only got one day, then don't bother about the Studios and just go to the Disneyland Park. But, perhaps, if you manage to arrive for opening time and the Disneyland park is open until late, then it might be worth getting a two park ticket. You can always get a quite a few rides done at the quieter Studios once the Disneyland Park gets busier in the afternoon, and then head off back to the DP for the evening.

Hi and welcome over on the DLP DIS board :wave2:

It would be possible to consider both, but I suspect you will be disappointed with WDS in comparison to MGM so I'd concentrate all your time in the Disneyland Park. Once you have done all the rides there is much in the theming to spend your time admiring :)

Have you decided when you are thinking of going :)

Definitely worth doing the DLP versions of Pirates, Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain, as they are considered to be better than their WDW equivalents. We also have a dragon under the Castle who is well worth a visit - though that won't take up much of your time.

If you do visit the Studios, then you might want to see Animagique, which is a bit of fun. Also Cinemagique which is great apparently - I haven't seen it yet, but I've heard very good reviews about it. Both of these are attractions unique to DLP.

I am not sure which day of the week it will be, but it will be around the date of August 17th, give or take a few days.

The Disneyland park will be open to 11pm then. And the Studios until 6pm

In the Disneyland Park

You must visit:
Big Thunder Mountain
Space Mountain Mission 2
Buzz - (which is amazing :thumbsup2 )
Phantom Manor
Pirates of the Carribbean

You Should try to visit:
Adventure Isle
Keelboats or the Mark Twain Riverboat
Alice's Curious Labyrinth
Star Tours
Indiana Jones

And you must see:
Fantillusion ( the nighttime parade - watch right in front of the castle)
Wishes fireworks

And you could try to see one of these shows:
Tarzan show, Winnie the pooh show, The Legend of the Lion King

And as I'm biased and an ex-cast/re-upcoming cast of the parade then I'd say it is definatly worth catching the ;

The Wonderful World of Disney Parade - it lasts 15 minutes and I'd watch from near Its a Small World.

Have a great time.

Anymore questions ask away...

That's a great list that Poppy has provided.
I'd add have a look at the castle and the dragon underneath it.
Enjoy the theming of the park since many of the stories that Disney used are rooted in European folklore :goodvibes

One of the regulars made a long post about how he didn't think he would spend that much time in Disney Studio's but ended up loving it. I belived him, but almost skipped the studios because of time problems. I can't explain why, but there are several attractions that are really worth it if you can fit it in. I'm all for not stressing out and fitting in too much so only if you can. Also, the food is set up in one spot so easy to catch a bite to eat.

Hi Tink!
I just returned from a day (+2 hours the next morning) at DLP and we were able to see everything we wanted in both parks and not feel rushed. However, this was in early April not the summer so I'm not entirely sure how the crowd situtation will be when you are there. Like someone above said, if it's too crowded, don't even bother with Studios. There's really not too much to do there and it's not terribly exciting, but worth it if you have time (and more relaxing due to less crowds). Anyhow, the "must sees" I would say are Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril (awesome) and Space Mountain 2. Don't know what kind of rides you're most interested in, but we tried to do everything that was different from WDW - including little kid rides like Casey Jr., the Storybook Cruise, Pinocchio, the little Aladdin walkthrough area, etc. And obviously, if you love BTMRR and Haunted Mansion (Phantom Manor) and PoC, go on those too. But it's definitely doable in 1 day if you're there early enough. At Studios, I thought RnRC was way better than the Florida one so that's worth checking out if you like that kind of thing. I also enjoyed the Cinemagique show. Hope this helped!

Ok, so now a tickets question. Is there any way to park hop between the studio and disneyland, or would I have to buy separate tickets? I have looked on the website but still can't figure it out. I have previously only had experience with the park hopping policy at Walt Disney World in Florida.

Thank you all with your advice so far!!

Yes you can buy a one day park hopper ticket, and it will cost you 51 euros - it's only 9 euros more than the one park ticket. :)

Yes there is a park hopper ticket available for one day. They dont always sell it however. It comes and goes. Its available right now.

I would also suggest spending a bit of time on main street. The interiour of the stores is amazing as well as the covered passageways BEHIND the buildings on both sides of the street. Dont forget to take advantage of the fast pass system. I havent been since Buzz opened so I dont know the situation there but I can tell you that fast passes for Peter Pan go quickly so its best to grab that one first. I am not sure if you can have more than one fast pass at a time. I have a season pass and can have multiple fast passes as long as they dont over lap in time. I tend to run about the park like a mad man getting passes when its a busy day like it will be in August.

I think the ride suggestions are spot on. I also enjoy the stunt show in Studios. I also enjoy Its a small world but that depends on the person :)

Out of the shows my favorite is the Lion King. You have to get a ticket to the show. To do that go to the front of Videopolis and see what time they are handing out the free tickets. Then show back up at least 15-20 mins before that time and line up to get the tickets. If you dont want to do that you can also go back near show time and buy a meal. The meal seating also allows you to see the show but you are further away.

Is that so?! I just assumed it was always available - oops!

Thanks! Should I buy in advance or are they available at the gate? I would just assume wait until i'm at the gate, in the off chance something happened and I was unable to make it to DLP.

Didnt mean to repeat what you said. We were typing at the same time and I was just slower ;)

The 2 day hopper is always available. I have seen the one day hopper come and go in the past. However of late it has been there. I think they are really trying to get people over to studio as much as possible so I bet it's not going anywhere for the time being.

You can get it at the gate however you might have to deal with lines. You can also buy it at any FNAC which is a music store with several locations around Paris or at the Disney Store on the Champs-Elysees. Some metro stations also sell them but I am not sure if they have the Park Hopper pass. If you wait to get it at the gate I suggest going to Studio where the lines tend to be shorter at the ticket window. You can buy the ticket there and then enter either park you wish first. Doenst have to be studio.

I don't mind Morgan!! And it was more probably because your answer was a lot more detailed than mine!! :)

If I had just one day at DLRP, my list of MUST sees would be....

Pirates of the Caribbean pirate:
Space Mountain
Phantom Manor
Buzz (although I haven't actually been on it yet but will experience it myself in June! :teeth: )
Big Thunder Mountain
Blange Neige et les Sept Nains (my FAVE dark ride!)
Indiana Jones
Peter Pan (providing the queue is reasonable!)

and if I had time for the studios then I would do Rock 'n' Rollercoaster and Animagique!

Hope you have a great time! :)
