One day at All Star Sports

What to do? We'll be arriving about 5:00pm on a Friday. The next day is our checkin at VWL. What should we do with our time at the resort? I'm sure we'll eat and the kids will want to swim. Where should we eat? Any suggestions, other things for kiddies to see? Thanks

We do this a lot. After we check in to allstars we have just eaten in the food court and gone in the pool or if we're not tired we go over to downtown disney and find something to eat. Some times the check-in line at all stars is pretty long and if we have an early morning we just rest up and go to our next resort early and start the parks then

My kids love eating at the food court (the only place to eat at the resort). You can swim, there is an arcade. We like to walk around the All Star Sports, Movies and Music to see the large icons (especially Movies). You can bring your own football or buy a small one in the gift shop and play catch on the large football "field". That's really all there is right at those resorts.

Last year we stayed about Pop Century, and on the first day when we got in we wanted to get our trip off to a great start, but didn't want to go to the parks (since we only had about 1/2 a day that day). We went to the Cinderella Dinner at the GF that night and it was a great way to get into the Disney spirit! There is also a character meal at the Contempory Resort (Chef Mickey's). Either of those would make a great way to start the trip!
