One child not riding in a group?

My stepmother is taking 3 ten year old granddaughters on a “Harry Potter” trip to Universal. One of the girls will likely chicken out of a ride or two. The grandmother is very concerned how to handle this if she wants to ride with the other two. They will likely mostly do HP rides- will Univ allow a child to pass through at loading and wait on their return? Or will they allow to take an exit once they load? Wondering where she will have to wait and how reasonable it will be to allow this for a mature ten year old. (Safe to stand at exit?)
Thanks for any and all help.

Just have her go thru the line with them and go to the child swap room and wait. Couldn't be easier.

Wow, a child swap room? This is at each ride? I’m not familiar with Universal so I’ll have to look this up. Sounds easy enough. Thanks!

Yep-the great thing about child swap at Universal is there are designated areas inside the attraction-so they can all wait together and then the one who doesn't ride goes to child swap (on many rides you can even see the area from the loading area). My 13 year old doesn't like riding the coasters so he does that with us.

Most of the child swap rooms are also near the exit which is nice, or on the way. Some are right there, or really obvious, but a few are not so obvious. However, that shouldn't be problem as you can easily identify a TM to have them direct you to where the child swap area is.

However, I do not know if you plan on going, or another adult is going, but I do not know if they will allow a child to be alone by themselves in the room. However, I'm sure someone may be able to speak from experience if they will allow certain children / ages sit alone. I bring this up, as traditionally, the child swap is used for a group to go on the ride and one person stay with the child, while the others ride, and once the ride is complete, the person who stayed with the child, or the non-rider gets to then go onto the ride without having to go back into the queue and wait.
