Planning our first stay as DVC members and our first non-park trip. I'd like to make a couple of ADRs, one for breakfast and one for dinner. Now that our DS is 10, I'd prefer to avoid buffet/family style since he doesn't eat nearly enough for us to pay adult price. We'll be at THV but will have a car, so we can eat anywhere. What would you choose for us (me, DH, DS10, and DD8)?

Breakfast- Olivia's, Kona Cafe, The Wave, Kouzzina, ??

Dinner- Flying Fish, California Grill, Citricos, Turf Club, ??

Kona Cafe is pretty famous for their Tonga Toast so it gets my vote.

And given that you will have a child with you, I think Cali Grill might be the most enjoyable for dinner, from the list you have provided. Although any from your list would be fine.

Flying Fish gets my vote for supper. It is awesome good!

Breakfast...of your list we've only ate at Kona. Went there because of the great reviews. We didn't like it like others do...but then we aren't big breakfast folks. We also aren't buffet people at all...but Cape May breakfast was great.

We did the Cape May breakfast in Sept. and LOVED it. But DS was only 9 then and was the kids price. Not worth the adult price for a 10yo in my opinion!

Thanks for the advice... keep it coming!

Definitely Flying Fish for dinner out of your list.

From your breakfast list I'd probably pick Olivias.

Unfortunatly can't really help for breakfast as we have always done buffets and charecter meals. I've heard alot of good about Kona, but have always ended up canceling that ressie for various reasons and never made it there.

My DD9 loves Cali Grill and tells everyone this is her favorite!! The Yatchsmen and LeCellier were her other two favorites. We ate Cali Grill and LeCellier in June and Oct, Yatchsman in Oct.

Another thought, skip breakfast, and do an 11:00 lunch at Sci-Fi Drive in- DD loved this one too. She talks about the milkshakes and car tables...
Well let me be honest the only resturant we've eaten @ DD says she doesn't care if she goes back to is Mama Melrose- she says it wasn't bad, that everywhere else was just so much better. Obviously we have a disney snob when it comes to eating, she wants the signature resturants...:rotfl:

Thanks, everyone. Sounds like Kona and Flying Fish would be good choices for us. Might have to throw in California Grill, too, because I remember eating there as a child and being so mesmerized.

Can't do Sci Fi because we're not going to parks on this trip, but that is one place we have on our to-do list for another trip before the kids get too old to appreciate it. We've always done 50's PT when at DHS.

My vote: The wave and Citricos. DEFINITELY citricos. let us know how it was.

For breakfast it's a hard choice for me. I loved The Wave because of the sweet potato pancakes. We are definitely going back there. We will be going back to Kona too. I would also suggest Boma. I know it's a buffet, but it is just so yummy!!! Our choice for dinner would definitely be CG.

Kona and Cali Grill are my choice with Citricos - 2nd. I also like Narcoossees but a reminder that Cali Grill is fabulous for watching Wishes. If doing a late dinner why not make a late breakfast / early lunch?

Breakfast - Olivia's for sure. Never Kona, been burned there twice and will not return. Nothing like sitting out on the patio area, watching the boats come and go and seeing all the action at OKW.

Dinner - Turf Club. You are right there and it is very good. Why not enjoy it for that stay?
