Anyone else watching? I've only watched the first episode so far (l have the second episode recorded to watch) but I already like this family, and I'm going to keep watching and cheer them on!!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Nope, but I'm sure I will.

I haven't heard anything about them, what makes them so "big"? Lots of kids?

I haven't heard of this one. Why do they have a show? What is it that makes their family interesting? TLC usually puts on families with unusual lifestyles.

There are 4 members of the family and they each weigh over 300 lbs.

The show is new, just premiered tonight with 2 half-hour episodes. They're a family that consists of husband (stay at home dad), wife (works 2 jobs which she loves), 16 yr old daughter, 14 yr old son. Very close family, they love each other very much, that much is plain to see. Unfortunately, they are each over 300 pounds.

Tonight's episodes introduced us to the family and showed their typical lifestyle and way of eating. Then after a couple of doctor appointments it becomes crystal clear to all of them that they need to make drastic changes in the lives, in their home, their lifestyle, etc AND that they all need to do this together. Initially the DD and DH are slightly resistant but after a visit to the pediatrician's office where they hear bad news about the kids' futures, they ALL get onboard and determined to change.

Like I said, I like this family a lot so far, so I plan on watching and cheering them on.

Oh. Well I hope it is a show dealing with them losing weight and becoming healthier. It would be kind of sick if they are just putting on a voyeuristic program to exploit an obese family.

I agree, and fortunately that's not what this series is going to be about. Only in these opening episodes did they show them eating "bad" foods but that was needed so that we can see their entire journey. I thought the shows were well done, and the family is very loving and close, while also down to earth. I wish them success together!

Okay. This is a program I would be interested in. I like watching the "Biggest Loser" type shows - the ones where people reclaim their lives.

I found this family refreshing. They know they're fat and they don't try to justify themselves. I truly think they didn't know how poor their physical health is and it's really great(and unusual!) that the teen son has taken the lead. The mom is really on board--she has such a good attitude. she was very motivating. Dad is going to be a problem. I don't think he has quite bought into the health aspects of being obese--he just wants his coke and cookies. and the teen daughter hasn't quite come around yet.

I thought their visit to the water park was really sad. Did you see the people staring at them and making comments? And when they family wanted to go on one of the tube rides they couldn't go because of their size--there was a 400-lb weight limit for the two person ride. No single riders allowed. So none of them could go on it. And people snickered. It was kinda painful to watch.

So far I like this family. I think they are in for some difficult times, but I hope they will be very motivating. Over 60% of Americans are overweight and a sizable number of them are flat out obese. I count myself in their numbers, but I'm commited to losing the weight because like this family, I've developed some serious health problems. And when you finally do realize that "Oh Hell! I'm gonna die!" it's a beautiful moment. Bravo to this family!

I watched last night with my DD. We tend to watch alot of the TLC shows. They seem like a very nice family. I hope they do well with changing their lifestyle.

I watched the show last night. I really liked the family. I wasn't sure what to expect when I first started watching, but now I'm rooting for them!

They were on GMA on Monday. I think all of them lost at least 50 pounds during the show. They weren't sure if TLC would give them another season, but they were still committed to losing (especially the mother, who I think is really great).

I also like Ruby on Style network, though I haven't seen many recent episodes.

I wish I would've caught them on GMA on Monday. I watched the second episode from last night, and by the end ALL of them seemed to really be onboard with making themselves healthier. I hope that TLC will continue with them.

I love "Ruby"! This family kind of reminds me of Ruby; very upbeat, happy, loving, but just too much weight, and trying to get healthy. I enjoy watching shows like these, they're very encouraging with my own family's efforts to eat healthy. :)

Is there any way to watch this online? It sounds interesting!:thumbsup2 I wish them all the best in their journey to health- sounds like they've already got the happiness down.:goodvibes
